The patch is just fun for priests uh?
Disc priest and holy paly are broken in raids.
Its fine if resto druids rule mythic+ though.
Well Shadow Priest got quite the nerf and Disc got nerfs before this one
Heres the changes:
Priest
-
Discipline
- Atonement healing reduced to 50% (was 55%).
- Purge the Wicked damage reduced 10%.
- Power Word:Solace damage reduced 10%.
- Shadow Word: Pain damage reduced 9%.
- Mastery: Grace effectiveness increased by 12%.
- Developers’ notes: Discipline’s ability to contribute both damage and healing is slightly too high for what one character can bring to a group composition. At the same time, we’re making their Mastery stat slightly more attractive.
- Schism now increases damage done from Priest spells and abilities only.
- Developers’ notes: This is intended to be consistent with other class cooldowns.
-
Shadow
- Auspicious Spirits damage bonus reduced to 25% (was 50%).
- Fixed a bug causing Spiteful Apparitions (Azerite Trait) to be increased by 75% if you do not have Auspicious Spirits talented.
- Developers’ notes: The multiplicative interaction between Auspicious Spirits, Spiteful Apparitions, and Chorus of Insanity has specifically been a big part of Shadow’s damage scaling somewhat out of control at high target counts.
- Chorus of Insanity critical strike bonus reduced by 25%.
- Shadow Word: Pain damage reduced by 8%.
- Vampiric Touch damage reduced by 8%.
Well, i mean Spriests were pretty dominant in EP as well.
EP was a great time for being a disc/shadow priest.
wow its a big nerfs here
rip priests
And do you think that tuning solely for mythic raids is the solution to that? Because resto druids are actually getting buffed (high noon Azerite trait) while pallies are getting nerfed, and priests are getting nerfed (again)
Probably not, but its thr tightest tumed content.
And druid dominance in mythic+ goes beyond throughput.
So uh… I guess someone decided to pop the Priest’s bubble?
This is now the second nerf to Glimmer of Light. I agree that Holy Paladin is very strong in raids and the balance should be tighter, I’m just hoping they’re not going too far in the other direction. The baseline playstyle of Holy IMO is not fun nor rewarding nor effective, if Glimmer is nerfed too heavily, the fall back onto the standard playstyle would leave a lot of players unhappy. Of course there’s still time to see how much of a difference this makes.

Did Disc and Holy really need nerfs?
Wow, I barely dodged a ton of bullets there as a Holy Priest. I feel for my Shadow and Disc brothers and sisters though. Yikes
Lame… I just spent the last month and a half getting my Hpal ready for next raid tier. I might just stick with resto druid depending how this all shakes out. Not sure if it’ll still be better and I have wayyy more experience on rdruid.

Discipline’s ability to contribute both damage and healing is slightly too high for what one character can bring to a group composition
Meanwhile resto druid…
Yea, we did better than druids in raids once.

Did Disc and Holy really need nerfs?
Disc need nerfs?
Yes.
Resto should be tree form only, change my mind.
I’ve already benched my SPriest and won’t be healing on anyone anymore.
So long as the buff to mastery makes up for the HPS loss from the atonement nerf and reduced damage, I’m ok with them nerfing Disc DPS. I wish they’d buff other healers’ damage instead…but they rarely do that when they can just nerf one.
If Disc healing (which is already middle of the pack) suffers as a result, I’m not going to be very happy at all.
It wouldn’t bother me so much if they would help priests in other fields. PvP priests are absolutely abysmal and M+ just isn’t fun as one.

Disc Priests are not “middle of the pack” at all. Their bust is strong as. They are without a doubt the best raid healer and have been the entire expansion.
