Healer Brann just stops throwing potions sometimes

I’d noticed this a few times but I put it down to my frustrated imagination, but then I decided to test it. I was almost done with a pack, one mob left which was low on health and my health was low but I wasn’t seeing any potions. So I just waited. And waited. And waited. Brann just did not throw potions. And as soon as I killed the last mob, he threw the potions.

So it’s not my imagination. Brann literally trolls you sometimes by refusing to heal you until the fight is done.

I’ve had this happen. I’ve had him not heal my hunter’s pet when the potions should. (Haven’t rezzed my pet as many times in the past ten years as I did in that one night.) I’ve had him be hostile to me and not heal me… Tried switching him to DPS in this case since he wouldn’t/couldn’t heal me which resulted in constantly tabbing to him when trying to DPS other things. (The tab target preferred Brann over anything else.) I’ve had the candles/totems immediately disappear as soon as they’re picked up. I’ve had several packs of mobs evade bug and reset with each mob in the pack I killed which turned into a looooooong slog of trying to not die as I have to individually kill each mob from full when they re-aggroed to me as soon as they reset and refilled their health…

I have been unspeakably NOT IMPRESSED IN THE SLIGHTEST with how buggy the delves are and that doesn’t even count the amazing frustration of the difficulty level bouncing back and forth on an almost daily basis for about a week. After all that, I rarely see anything out of them other than really crappy trinkets which aren’t worth equipping unless you otherwise have an empty slot. I’ve come to hate the delves.

I just had this happen tonight. Got an accidental pack and was like I can manage till the potions come out…THEY NEVER DID!!! I cussed that dwarf up one side and down the other, but I was yelling into the void…

I love the delves. Why are you doing them if you hate them?

Dark Legacy Comics might be right that Brann is actually a minion of Zekvir.

It isn’t your imagination, this is definitely a thing that happens.

It is frustrating for sure, especially on classes/specs that really rely on his healing to survive.

I don’t tend to experience it too often, thankfully, but the companion AI is certainly one of the main aspects Blizzard needs to be improving.

it’s frustrating but this is how he’s intended to work. they’ve limited how much he can do to keep you alive, since it would be silly if he just kept pumping a constant stream of potions into you. i suspect it’s some kind of rppm system.

More irritating is when he breaks my CC.

I’m trying to give them a chance. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

They looked super interesting. Mostly I was looking forward to a good place to “train” with alts in a challenging environment to improve my performance with classes/specs I’m not familiar with in a way that won’t get in the way of other players. I don’t want to be “that guy” trying and stumbling with a new spec in a group who just wants to get the dungeon done.

I’m still hopeful things will get ironed out, but in the meantime I don’t think I’m out of line for being irritated by the level of buggy-ness. This is supposed to be a finished product. I get that bugs happen and always have, but I also feel there are ever increasingly a lot of things which are getting released untested, not fully tested, or without thought how something about them will effect the best interests of how the game should play. It’s been bad before, but starting with Dragonflight, it’s been getting to the point of unacceptable and TWW has not improved anything in that regard.

I would agree if you couldn’t easily test it by doing the same and watching him throw potions on cooldown for an indefinite amount of time.

i have tested it and my comment was based on what i’ve seen. maybe i’m not understanding

No more irritating is him walking right in front of you when you are trying to loot the little containers that give gold and xp

He’s OOM (out of malt-liquor)

It may be. I think it might just straight up be a CD (with combat/missing health trigger), as I’ve seen him throw out potions immediately after a previous set despawned. To me the pace of the potions feels very routine.

Ugh, yeah and my Brann is always dead. Sometimes I don’t even know what’s killing him :woman_shrugging:

He does that if you didn’t use up ALL the potions lying around. He waits for them to expire. Make sure you run through all potions before engaging the next pack twenty yards down the road.

My experience thus far with him, on this monk:
He shoots things I’ve stunned/used paralysis on, even when I’m engaging another npc.
He throws down potions when I literally use my zap power to kite something over to me, I’m not even hurt yet.
He throws down tons of potions all at once, sometimes 6-9, when I’m only a tiny bit hurt, but then will not throw any down when I’m almost dead.
Last night I FINISHED the delve, after the boss and right at the entrance to the treasure room he tossed down a campfire and sat down.

I like him, don’t mind his talking and his healing is good most of the time, but sometimes he’s just goofy.

This is my only complaint about Brann or any “pet” in the game. A lot of times on my lock I have to dismiss minions just so I can loot things because the stupid fools stand right in my way, no matter how I try to reposition.

I use mine up because I found that when you go o er then your pet also heals

Gonna leave this here.

Pfft. Let’s get caught in the beginning of the delve and have to be dismissed and resummoned. I wish brann was the only issue.
