Still broken shaman is the only viable healer, the easiest one and the one with most utility for some reason. why would you take a non shaman healer and make your group worse? You lose:
mass dispell totem
Lust
a fourth dps that interrupts and won’t die randomly like other healers, because they’re tanky, have mobility, multiple defensives, also you won’t die for lack of healing because their pets do the healing job for them.
Pasive no skill acid rain dps
Poison/Course dispell
Party wide mastery/melee buff
Party wide 10% more health to make your group tanky
2 stuns
6s interrupt
Other healers can’t compete, are harder to play and honestly not worth inviting as long as resto shaman exists in it’s current state. balance sucks.

It’s not the only viable healer, all the healers are good. Shaman is good and the utility fits the dungeon pool. Stop crying.
I’m sure all the holy priest mains out there trying to do M+ agree with you. They are S tier right now in all forms of content.
No healer is unviable, holy priests are doing 13s and 14s
I mean you’re not wrong. There are 30 Holy Priests who have done a +13 or higher dungeon. I guess that’s the whole classes population, right? Clearly means its a very viable spec.

But you are also getting at the heat of the issue: design.
I’ve tried all the healers; I don’t know why you wouldn’t play shaman.
All the other healer classes it’s like the devs were concerned healers were bored and too proficient, so they had to make all of their rotations be bloated and complicated with combo requirements.
When I want to do good aoe as a shaman, I press chain heal.
I don’t need to make sure I’ve done a bunch of spells or ramps first, nor do I even need to plan my CDs because my heals are available to react what happens.
However, the solution isn’t to ruin Shaman, but rather make all the other healers as straight-forward to play as Shaman. For such a pivotal and complicated role, there is seriously no reason that healing specs need to be made as complicated as they are where optimal healing on some means knowing what will happens at every second of an encounter.

And Poison Clense just got the same treatment as Mass Dispell with the 2 min CD.
The same way people complained a couple expansions ago that priest was dealing with the Bursting affix to easily and bam comes the nerf bat to Mass. Bursting is now gone from the game, Mass Dispell still a 2 min CD, gg Blizz.
The problem is that resto shaman are fun to play, and other healers are much less so

it is kinda crazy how all it took for shamans to go from a mid at best healer to the best option was some changes to how interrupts work, a 2nd defensive, and a group buff.
Healing is the same as it was before but now all the utility shaman has had for so long matters, and boom s tier healer.

I think you and I have different opinions on what constitutes “viable”.
Amusingly enough, Shaman have way lower HPS than other healers right now because Ascendance doesn’t work (like, at all).

A very big factor is the incoming damage profile to players. There’s a lot of hard hitting burst damage that Ancestral Vigor (HP increase) and a no ramp group-wide healer are perfectly suited for.
Legit have no idea how people find rsham fun, you just poop out some totems and they do like 70% of your healing… ok i guess they wanted to make a BM hunter for healers? the spec basically plays itself
