Any initial impressions for the healer addons in Midnight like VuhDo or HealBot?
Are they going to be disabled?

At this point it looks as though combat and healing add-ons are going to be essentially disabled entirely based on the data they need to read during combat.
Yeah disabled thank god. Time to play the game
I hope they are going to improve the main UI then, otherwise healing is going to be very difficult.
I’ve healed in FF14. Difficult, but doable because combat gives you more reaction time than WoW does.
I feel like this is a similar effect of what they are going for. If they can delay specific combat, even by just a couple of seconds, it can certainly buy everyone some time to do what they need to do and still succeed. Granted with the add-ons it made it feel like a very fast paced combat and healing, and without them, it’s going to feel more like a fast turn based event.
I hope they dont break Healbot. Ive been using it since wrath and its the only way I enjoy healing. If they break it, im just gonna be another dps in que lol
How so? The base UI already shows debuffs needing to be dispelled and mouse over healing has always existed with macros. Or isn’t it also built in to the game now too?
The base raid frames don’t have enough slots for buffs to play resto druid or pres evoker comfortably, and they don’t allow whitelisting or blacklisting of buffs to filter out useless info.
Fair, sounds like something they’ll probably address with Midnight as they remove addons. Their cooldown manager has come a long way on the alpha.
They’re all disabled right now. I unsubscribed and told them why. I’m not playing without my unit frame addon. I didn’t preorder either. They have until my current game time runs out. If they change this before it goes live, then I’ll reconsider. If they let it go live like this, I will never return even if they fix it later. I’ll take my money elsewhere.
I love when people say “adapt”. No, I’m not adapting. I’m not giving up my UI customization. Blizzard can adapt to not getting my money.
The base UI is utter crap.
I have read that they will be disabled.
This is a slippery slope, because unlike WeakAuras, addons such as HealBot and Vuhdo have been a core piece of people’s enjoyment of the game as far back as Classic WoW.
The Blizzard Base UI does not have the features that these addons do. If they did, this wouldn’t be as big of a problem. Very concerned for Midnight if they don’t add additional customization to the base UI.
I’ve just never had any issues with the base frames. I’ve played resto druid for one season for a few weeks to almost 3k score, and never had an issue. I’ve been a healer main, multi class healer since shadowlands and I’ve never once used vudhoo or cell. The only thing I had to use weakauras for as far as raid frames are concerned is for effects to show roots and effects to show bleeds and other spells that randomly were dispelled by BoP like certain fears etc. My hope is that blizz adds some feature for this as I’m sure they’re aware by now we need this information.
I am not sure there is any way to allow Healbot to work with what they are doing. Addons simply can’t read the combat data anymore. I mean as long as damage isn’t spikey and they find a more manageable way for players to do their jobs without the addons. All should be fine.
Yep, Vuhdo is a line in the sand for me. I WILL NOT play the game if it’s disabled. It’s not the addon author, he wants to continue it. I’ve spoken to him myself. But since Blizzard only pays attention to massive sub losses and usually ignores feedback, I decided to unsub now and assume they aren’t going to change this.
IF they change it before Midnight prepatch goes live, I’ll reconsider.
For me, I’ve never been able to set up the base frames to work where and how I need them to for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. Healbot works best for me because of how I can customize it and place it and change it and resize it, etc.
I can heal without it. But not for long and not often. I don’t need it to be fancy. I don’t even have it fancy right now. And if it’s gone, oh well. I just won’t heal much.
I would love to hope that more options are added baseline that will help… but I have no faith.
If they can read health bars going up and down, then that’s really all I need.
As it stands in Alpha, everyone has to YOLO whether someone has a debuff or a HoT on them. Stupid? Yes. But it’s whatever.
I hope Yoshida is ready for another WOW exodus and has something great lined up for the next expansion. FF14 was the top MMO for almost 4 years, WOW didn’t return to the top spot until Dragonflight.
I won’t touch that game with a ten foot pole. lol
Right now, it’s not as good as WOW, since its latest expansion was decidedly mediocre. Not bad, but it’s not Shadowbringers or Endwalker. I don’t particularly like how healing works there though, which is why I’m here. Or rather why I WAS here.
With what Blizzard has planned…well FFXIV will definitely be better.
