“Be a healer”, they said, “queues will be instant.” They said.
Is it normal for a healer to have a 45 minute+ queue time? After this long I turned it into a meme around my friend group, but the queue still hasn’t popped. I see the DPS roll fill and drain over time, but a tank is never found.
Is this normal? Are tanks now extremely less common in the wild than healers?
Depends what character you are queuing on (level not class), if you have multirole selected (its been bugged since at least legion and can actually give you a way longer queue time) and time of day. I’m assuming you are talking about your 77 shaman, that is normal to have a long queue time as tank OR healer, especially if you are queuing off peak times. You really want tank and healer to get insta queues for dungeons leveling up if you are able to.
70s? yes it is. not a lot of people willing to tank in that range.
depending on the time of day, my dps will sit for over an hour.
Pretty rare, but it can happen.

Healing only. Which is why I’m so shocked.

Not really surprising, had that happen on a paladin that I had tank AND heal roles selected. Still would end up with really long queue times. Was in the 70 bracket as well.
I would say right now with 0 content and 0 motivation yeah it is normal.
Not to mention XP from questing is a lot more than what you’d get from dungeons, especially after 80 when nobody remembers how dungeons are run and wipes become a lot more common.
Well there’s your problem right there. Not a lot of people queuing for Cataclysm dungeons.
I think the numbers just fizzle out around that range. I recently took 10 characters up to 110 at the start of 8.1.5, only using dungeon pops. Around 70 to 90 is when the queue becomes longer, so I assume it has something to do with lower % of players.
There’s also players that insta quit when they realize its culling of stratholme, oculus or old hillsbrad. Another 15-20 minute wait for a tank replacement.
Where should I be questing right now?
Oculus I get. But CoS and Old H aren’t that bad. You’d lose more time to drop your deserter debuff than you would going through them.
Not saying you’re wrong, just kinda of a silly thing for people to do.
At 80, it’s faster to just level through Cata zones than go into dungeons. And since so few know those places and die hilariously to mechanics, no one wants to do them.
You can go from 80-85 in Hyjal and part of Deepholm.
Oculus is so fast and easy these days, I seriously don’t understand why anyone drops it. Same with Gnomeregan.
Oculus, probably habit or bad memories… I would probably still instaquit after seeing the loading screen. I never want to go back in there.

Not surprising. After the tank changes and general waves of complaints people CAN get tanking it’s turned away a lot of players.
