Hello!
I’m thinking of starting my healing career on this priest but I have little to no knowledge of the spec. I heard healers use Healbot, for whatever purpose, so I’ll download it right away. But first I have a concern that I need to address : I already use Tukui and both these addons have unit frames replacements, so I’m wondering if they won’t cause errors.
Ty for reading.
Very few healers nowadays use HealBot. What do you want the addon to do for you?
I saw that it’s a unit frame replacement, so I wouldn’t have to drag my mouse all across my screen to select which player I want to heal.
If your intention is to use Healbot, then make sure to disable the built in raid frames in Tukui.
If you are using Tukui raid frames, then you will not bother with Healbot. Instead, combine the built in raid frames in Tukui with Clique and/or mouseover macros.
For mouseover macros, I highly suggest you go into your keybinding options and start binding mouse buttons to special action buttons and/or multi action bar buttons.
While Clique does exactly that without assigning keybindings, there is one huge limitation: it doesn’t work for actions outside of the raid frames.
For example, if I were to bind dispel to middle mouse button, it will work when i mouse over the raid frame. However, if i mouse over the 3d players/enemies, hitting the middle mouse button won’t work with Clique.
Now, if I were to bind the middle mouse button to a special/multi action button, and assigning a mouseover macro to dispel/purge, then I can dispel/purge the player/enemies on both the raid frame and on the 3d model.
An example of where this is helpful is the annoying trash in Tol Dagor that bubbles themselves.
My macro would be:
#showtooltip
/use [@mouseover,help,nodead]Purify
/use [@mouseover,harm,nodead]Dispel Magic
In doing so, I can quickly mouse over the 3d enemies during the pull and quickly purge their bubble without having to select their enemy frames.

Thanks for the in-depth explanation! This is useful knowledge. I’m not sure I like it though, like I don’t intend to use more than 2 mouse buttons, I’m not used to using macros and Clique’s limitations seem annoying. I will consider using macros when I’m more familiar with my rotation though.
So I’ll stick to Tukui for the meantime. I already have a keybind to target nearest friendly player, so that helps as long as I stay in 5 mans.
Healing without using some kind of mouseover (either through macros or an add-on) will slow you down and limit your efficiency. That may not be an issue at low level and in very casual play (I’ve know people who quite happily heal Normal raids without mouseovers), but if you plan to push harder content it’s pretty important. Just to keep in mind.

Ok so I tried Healbot. Honestly makes the game easier. I think it works like the Clique addon you mentioned. I don’t have to rotate through players to select the proper one and then click on my ability. Just mouse over their icon… right click for heal, left click for flash heal. It’s a real time saver. Next step? I don’t know, but this is pretty sweet though.
Oh and I don’t think I have to worry about Tukui at all.
Healbot and Tukui seem to work fine in tandem
Yes, Healbot functions exactly the same as a standard raid frame plus Clique. It still has the same limitation as Clique in that it doesn’t work on 3d models. It’s not an issue for the most part.
However, when you get into a situation like I just mentioned, that’s when mouseover macros will take over.
Will you get to that stage? I don’t know. I never thought I would either…
…but here I am: using mouseover macros along side of Clique to become more prepared for any random situation that may or may not call for it.
Another more practical example is Leap of Faith. Suppose a party member is standing in fire. If you have binded that spell to Clique or Healbot, then you would click on the toon, which will then highlight the player in the raid frame, where you can click Leap of Faith on his frame to pull them out of it.
Sounds fine and dandy as you are just doing what you can to save them. However, that’s assuming you have like 3 to 4 seconds to do all those extra actions.
With harder content, they would be dead in that time frame. That’s where assigning a mouseover macro to Leap of Faith is useful: you can mousover the party member and instantly grip them out with one key.
