Do you have a pair of these? Did you buy them because of the 7.1 surround sound feature? If you replaced 5.1’s with these, could you tell the difference in the sound/separation?
And lastly, where were they manufactured?
I would like to buy some, but prefer them to be made in the USA, so do you have any suggestions for a range of $100-$150.?
Thanks
For the money range i personally like the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro. very comfortable, light weight, and has great audio quality.
Though if you are wanting to spend a bit more then I suggest the JBL Quantum ONE or 910 they are great. They have cheaper models like the 600 700 800 and such.
Will be honest finding some made in the U.S.A. that are of good quality is super hard.

Thank you, Vladislaus!
Just came from Amazon, where I always go to the reviews and check the 1’s (worst reviews) first?
China doesn’t like us and I believe that is reflected in the merchandise I have had to return. Their workmanship is shoddy at best, so I would rather buy from an American company if possible.
Thanks for the recommendations. I will check them out.
I guess it depends on what you’re looking for exactly. It’s going to be tough to find something made in the USA but I understand why you’d want that. I don’t find the surround sound functions to be a big deal but maybe others disagree.
If you’re looking for something to game on I’d say you’re better off buying a headset and a DAC. You’ll get really great sound quality from that combo. I prefer sennheiser products but most of them are listed as epos now (they’re still the same thing)
I’d probably buy something like this then add a DAC later for your budget. Just my two cents.

Thanks, Velgen. So those Sennheisers are just stereo, right?
Like you said, I’ll probably have trouble finding a good pair of headphones that are surround sound and wireless. Not knocking the brand - just hoping for something a little closer to what I want.
I read up on the DAC, and if I were younger and still the Stereophile I used to be, I’d probably jump on one of those, especially the red or black firefly USB DAC’s. Looks simple and if it really is plug and play, I may consider one of those.
Thanks again!
The overwhelming majority of headsets are two speakers and the surround effect is done via software. Most of those 7.1 5.1 etc are just marketing gimmicks from that standpoint. Pretty much any headset can be surround sound.
As far as wireless goes I’m not the one to ask, I tried a few different ones out but always went back to wired because I couldn’t stand the sound quality.
My setups wired and more expensive than what you were looking for. I have a GSX 1000 DAC which allows me to switch between my headset and speakers with the push of a button, it has a surround option etc.
I’d probably read up on anything you think looks nice and check out youtube to see what other people are saying. I’m sorry I can’t help you more. Good luck with your search.
I just use 3D sound software with my stereo headphones. Surround sound is simulated in headphones. Surround sound headphones just have a couple extra drivers in them to help synthesize the surround effect. The same effect can be done with stereo drivers. Boom 3D enables 3D sound in WoW for me, even with the surround mode turned off. The surround mode is awesome, but there’s always something that sounds like it’s in a cave.
I’m struggling trying to find a decent pair of headphones, I am currently using the Delta S Evangelion’s but let me just say, these suck. I personally much prefer the original delta’s very nice quality of headphones, I’ve gotten numerous compliments with my mic quality.
