Hello I am looking for some suggestions when it comes to a headset to talk on discord for playing Wow. I currently have a corsair one but its super old and some times it works on discord but then other times it just randomly stops working and i don’t know why then the next day its working again and i didn’t change any settings. So kinda fed up with it and looking for a new headset just a basic one will due just want it to be reliable.
Logitech has some decently priced and good headphones! I been using mine, costed me about 40$ from Best Buy. I also got a blue yeti, but I use that for recordings .
Logitech - G432 Wired 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset for PC - Black/Blue
Some people use Xbox live mics still lolol.
Find a local electronics store that has headsets on display that you can try on. For a game like WoW and just talking on discord the sound quality isn’t paramount and most are good enough, so fit and comfort are more important.
I agree with Ughash, Logitech had always served me well. I use G935s, because I prefer wireless, but they can be a bit pricey.
I have a headset either called Corsair or that’s who makes it. I dig it. And it’s advertised as being Discord friendly so that’s neat.
I personally use the Corsair Void Pro headset. Its got decent sound quality, 7.1 surround, its wireless and has pointless rgb lighting that can link up with your corsair hub and have all your lights match. Its construction is pretty sturdy. The battery life is also quite good, I get at least 10 hours a charge on mine and Ive had it for a year. Right now its 45 dollars on Amazon.
“discord friendly” is just marketing. It doesn’t mean anything.
Headset? I just blare my speakers into my mic so everyone knows what game I’m playing while I’m playing with them in that game.
Picking out headsets is more of a personal comfort choice than anything.
When I use a headset (this is very rarely), I go with a Logitech Pro or Razer Tiamat.
The Pro is designed to fit bigger heads and is wireless, however it doesn’t have many bells or whistles. There is some good comfort though and I can wear it for a long period of time, specially since I have a big head.
The Tiamat is a true 7.1 headset. Meaning that it has individual speakers for each channel. I use this when I really want to hear the sounds around me without relying on virtual surround. It honestly sounds wonderful! Not as good as say a studio headset, but definitely worth the money. The downside is that they are a bit tight. After a 5 hour play session, I will have some discomfort and marks on my head.
I suggest like everyone else and go to a store and try on a few pairs. Listen to how they sound and if the price range is right for you. Don’t worry about if it will work with Discord, because any mic will (more or less).
I’d consider what you’re looking to do. If it’s just a headset for raiding then you’re fine going with what feels comfortable on your head and has good reviews.
I use a Kingston HyperX Cloud II because it was on sale at Jb Hifi.
Turtle Beach Ear Force headphones, comes wireless, wired with extra long cord and comes with a mic.
Great product. Lasts a long time. No, I don’t work there.
Eh just thought I’d mention it since they talked about discord. I’m well aware it’s likely marketing mumbo jumbo. Still a nice headset.
Turtle beach and Razer make nice headphones.
I mean if all you’re worried about is WoW and Discord you don’t really need anything fancy. I personally use steel series 800 wireless. It’s alright, not really worth its cost though imo.
I use a tin can tied to an old rusted wire.
I have a cheap $14 generic headset that works just fine.
