I pre ordered SL, and I have no regrets. Probably because it’s not out yet, and I don’t have anything to complain about.
It has nothing to do with dk’s and everything to do with used up gametime.
I preordered for the perks and the fact Blizzard hasn’t done anything to push me to the point of quitting. BfA wasn’t my favorite xpac but I still enjoyed some aspects of it.
I also think it’s because he preordered months ago. I was getting that impression from his OP.
Same here. BfA had some really bad spots and some really good spots. So, it was mediocre overall. In a few years, I’m sure I will remember the fun and charming bits more than I remember the negative stuff.
Not the first time I’ve heard “I only play Classic, not retail. REFUND!”
Classic is part of (bundled into) retail. Blizzard is practically GIVING you Classic for FREE. There was no markup on the sub when Classic rolled out, and never really has been in almost 16 years. Not playing retail is YOU problem.
Horrible logic.
We’ll all die someday and in 200 years no one will remember anything about us. May as well just lie, cheat and steal to make life easier or even just alt f4 off Earth since it won’t even matter e v e n t u a l l y right?
Sorry not ordering it period first time since 2008, I will wait and see how my son goes and get the honest truth from him if its worth it or not. After the last couple of Xpacs which were all disasters, I’m not lvling to 60 and for 3 years have jack crap to do. gl to those happy to do the same crap for 3 years straight yet again.
I don’t know why but this made me laugh.
Hehe hehe
Good move!
Kids are often more honest than adults when it comes to reviewing games.
I feel like this is an overreaction. This has been the case with Blizzard services for a while, and preorders have gone through this process before. BFA had the same posts being made saying people pre ordered, looked at it, disliked it, tried to get a refund, and couldn’t because of the same reasons.
Classic requires a subscription to play just like retail does. Just because you used the time you were given in a different way than you anticipated doesn’t somehow make you an exception to the same rules all of us are.
Slight flaw in the logic here. Expansions are every 2 years. There are up to 3 patches that introduce content throughout those two years. There is no way to know within the first few months if there will be satisfying content in those patches. Your son will not have all the answers. Sounds like you would be best off if you just come back at the end of the expansion, so you can hate on it for a shorter amount of time.
There’s probably only 56 adults in the world who read pertinent information
I still hold firm thats a horrible use of time. Generally I avoid willingly paying money to do something which I hate.
Just wait until your account gets silenced just for disagreeing with somebody and the ticket response says “unconstructive” even though that constitutes 90% of all posts on this forum, then you can complain.
The problem with downvote systems is that legit posts can get buried by cliques. Even though what you may have said is 100% accurate and verifiable, they can get it “hidden” as a way to silence others they don’t like.
In the old system, yes, but if they reintroduce the system, it should leave the post visible, but just show you the number of downvotes. Flags should still be the silence, for moderation purposes.
Probably depends how much the account is worth to them.
I got reported for “real life threats” a few times. I almost felt bad for someone who had to resort to that.
That would simply be a matter of opinion. I’ve always been one of the believers that any upvote or downvote system should allow people to see who voted so you can spot trends and vote stalkers. I say this as a moderator of one of the top 100 largest subreddits. It’s just how the system works, and I accept it.
Downvotes are designed for “does not contribute to the conversation” and are rarely ever used correctly. They’re nearly (not always) used in retaliation. “You disagreed with me!” or “I don’t like you”. And even on reddit, I’ve seen people get into heated debates and then you’ll see the person get a system downvote on any future comments and then someone goes into their post history and downvotes everything for a few pages.
No system is perfect but if people can see who downvotes you, at least you’ll know who’s abusing it.
I hate how the game has become since I started in Legion. I do not hate my guild nor friends I have made. My Guild and friends make my time worth it. The gameplay loop as it stands in BfA, is not entertaining or fun. Neither of which are to the point of me dropping the game.
Though, as I have told the guild and told them again last raid night, if ShadowLands sucks like BfA did, I will drop WoW after I find them all a new guild to call home. I’m giving ShadowLands 14 months. Which is roughly 2 1/2 seasons of Mythic+, which is where I spend most of my gameplay at. Raiding is just a bonus but Mythic+ is where it’s at for me.
As I said, it’s going to take more than 1 garbo expansion to make me quit after what I’ve built and connections I’ve made here. Which is a resonable rollout instead of just dropping everything I’ve seen and made in 4 years.
I agree, but I feel like you keep the flag, and downvote counts as any type of dislike for the post at hand. Flags would then be reserved for mod actions. At that point, I wouldn’t even care what the downvotes are for, just as long as they didn’t hide the post. Seeing the downvoters could be good, but I could also see it as a net negative, as people could become overly defensive towards the people who downvote them.
I never like systems that utilize downvotes for “dislikes” unless it explicitly states. Dislikes always lead to cliques downvoting people who have disagreed with them in the past.
One awesome example I recall was a forum (you may or may not have heard of it) called Allakhazam. They had a like/dislike karma system. After so much positive karma, you would be granted visual titles and your name would appear a different color (green or red) which in the forum guidelines states that these people are considered by the public as helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I googled and it semi-still exists but they’ve taken that out of the description and just describe how you get a rating.
On my server’s forum, we had a posting clique who upvoted each other’s comments which was mostly posts about being at work and bored or at home and drunk and downvoting people who either 1) disagreed with them or 2) accomplished more than they did. It was clearly manipulation and abuse of the system. I wouldn’t put it past some people I’ve seen on here considering the abuse of the flag system I see. These people earned colored titles, giving the false impression that they were valuable members of the community when all they did was spam and insult people.
