If I get the curses applied facing the Horseman does that make the drop rate better?

I think it does. I think all drops on his loot table are better with the curses.
Yes it does but only on your first toon first run of the day.
After that it makes no difference

Where do I go to get them? Not really sure.
When you first walk in you will see five wicker statues on your left the center one does nothing but there are two on each side of it you click on them and tell them you accept their curse

The large one in the center removes the curses if you change your mind, iirc.

The pessimistic way to look at it is you need the curses active to get the ‘normal’ drop rate and it’s nerfed without them. Since the drops are random I can call them rigged and believe whatever I want.

LOL at believing anything in WoW is random - it’s all predetermined to maximize engagement (hours played) and token sales.
That’s too wild even for me, only because I don’t think Blizz is competent enough to implement such a rigorous RNG system.
That’s why RNG systems exist in any game, to make the content more repeatable by making it worth doing for longer.
The only thing I recall from last few years with HH is upon first run of the day on your toon has a little bit more of a chance at his mount but not much.
Haven’t heard either way if makes a difference with curses being active.

This could easily be true, same with the new system where the first each day is buffed over the event - they may have reduced the base chance and set it up such that by the end of the event, the buffed chance is the same as the old chance.
Also note they never specify how the modifications to chance (curses, first of the day) actually buff the base rate.
They most likely increase the base rate by some very small multiplier such that the overall chance rate even when fully buffed is still abysmally low.

thats TOO tinfoiley, blizzard isnt competent enough to rig wow to that degree, they cant even get armor to not clip through every single race in the game thats not human female

I’m not sure what happened, I was getting a piece of the new wicker transmog last night each fight with characters level 70 and over, but today I haven’t had one in four fights. I’ve been doing it both with characters who haven’t done the fight yet and ones that did yesterday.
I assume that the drop rate was nerfed.
