Please for the love of transmog put the collar and scarf back on the chestpiece model, it being attached to the helm model is really restrictive for potential outfits.
We don’t want to be forced to use the helmet to get the high-collar look.
If the collar was on the chestpiece we could mix and match any of the available helm and shoulder mogs with it, thus enhancing the aesthetic of thousands of possible outfits across all armor types.
We can’t do that with its restricted to the helm.
Bilzzard please

Hot take: Stop with pop out collars. Hairstyles just clip through them and then look awful.
Not happy tho that it’s attached to the helmet. Really stupid idea, Blizz.

They definitely need to change how they handle things like the collar of an outfit first thing being they out right need to always have two versions of one with and one without it, The next issue needing fixed is it being attached to the head which means it moves any time the head does and will cause it to just look awful.
I can’t even recall how many outfits I’ve had to give up on using because it has one of those stupid looking collar things attached to the head that I can’t get rid of, Even though the entire outfit if separated from the collar very clearly would look amazing.

Easy solution: neck transmogs. Put collars, necklaces, scarves, etc in this category.

This would be amazing if possible
I am insanely glad it’s not on the chestpiece. Those collars are always the bane of every chestpiece that has them, because of clipping and how they move.
I don’t wear helms. So this is awesome news for me!

The clipping would still be an issue even if moved onto the chest, But the only reason the collars have that weird movement stuff is because their on the head and not the chest. If they put them on the chest though they’d become completely stationary details and only the clipping would be an issue, Which of course you could avoid by having the right choice of hair or head transmog to avoid clipping.

as a former gnome main: /sign
it hurts gnomes so bad that it’s a major factor I stopped playing them as much. a lot of helmets that are tolerable in this regard for larger species are absolutely not for a gnome.
Dang. I like the collar but any of my alts that would want to wear that mog would go helmless, so that’s a bummer that I’ll lose the collar too.

I prefer that to ruining every long hairstyle by sticking the collar on the chest piece.

I feel for you, but outside the “single color bits” from the trading post, it has been apparent since forever that WoW’s art teams aren’t friends of the “mix and match outside of established sets” mog community.
There are 47 million shades of every color, and only parts of established sets are meant to fit together. I don’t like it either, but any request to the contrary is blowing against the wind at this point. You can try, but don’t get your hopes up.
The sets look good, wear them as sets if you like the look. Abolish “sets aren’t real mog” sentiment, which is 100% a community flaw, and most of this problem is solved.

Oh even thinking on this matter, My character I’m using on the forums is perfect demonstration of how it should look. I have been using the Thundering Stormrider’s Breastplate which works so well I managed to create a perfect outfit to use on all of my characters, I never once had a issue with it because it sits perfectly on the chest rather then moving around weirdly from being a head piece.

Then use literally any other chestpiece that looks just like it as an alternative. The 3D parts are the only thing sets a chestpiece apart from any of the other generic 2D skins we’ve had released in the past 15 years of the game.
We WANT unique 3D assets on our chest mogs. It enables us to make unique outfits with distinct fashion
This change just hurts outfit diversity and creative expression
And if you’re a tauren the collars go right through your hump and look awful.

I mean it seems pretty clear the answer is they need to keep pulling more sets like the spirit healer sets that have alternate versions of the pieces
b/c putting it on the helmet or chestpiece only is instead going to screw over a different set of player races.

Nope, because it clips through hair. Which is my biggest pet peeve.
I hate collars on chestpieces.
So we have to use something different, because you can’t handle a collar on a helm?
I am sick and tired of things that float jutting out of my chestpieces that aren’t connected, collars that clip through hair and even bodies (see: Tauren) and those stupid plate pieces that jut out of the top as if they’re protecting my character’s face, when all they do is look ridiculous.
I am not part of this “we” you speak of.
Except it doesn’t. It’s entirely the opposite.

Sometimes. Not collars though.
You have hundreds chest options without 3D neck assets that you can choose from. Just find one with a matching color and use it. Are we gonna gimp the future and current 3D attachment shapes just because they clip? Bro just use one of the thousand other chest skins that have been out since before Shadowlands.
And you have a bunch with those options. That’s a really nonsensical thing to say.
I can also guarantee you that none of them will match this set well, because Blizzard fails to have matching metal colors.
The collar on the helm doesn’t affect you the way it does on chestpieces for literal RACES in this game and hairstyles, etc.
“Just”? Clipping is bad, my guy. If characters looking good is gimping the future then bust out the leather and chain.
