why? they aren’t that bad tbh …
Also wondering about this. I’ve been hitting up the four curses on my alts but
- I didn’t complete the quest chain on most of the characters, does that make a difference?
- Does doing four curses increase the odds of better loot after the first character a day? Because if I don’t have to be scrambling the whole time through the much longer fight I won’t bother
So far, with or without curses, I’ve been getting like 3-4 Tricky Treats and a mask with the exception of the first four-curse run on one account, where I got the Scarlet Key
Can you please confirm if the “hard mode” also increases chance of getting the dragon armor?
I like to call it the 'eadless 'orseman to honor my Liverpudlian Grandfather’s memory.
So if I get that key I can’t queue with it huh?
Cause see, I don’t have any friends.
Note I did not say friends in game. I literally have no friends. On family I’m good though so it’s alright.
I got the key on the third run of the day, all with four curses, so idk what to think really.
HH needs to cough up Arfus already!
I got Arfus in the first run with only one curse active. Then got the key on the fourth run with no curses active. The characters that had all curses active got nothing but candy.
This is intentional.
I got the mount today after killing it with all the totems activated.
I wonder what the exact percentages are.
I got the dragon customization on a level 60. I don’t have Dragonflight.
Remember the Deathwing mount that next to nobody uses or ever talks about? That was a mount they put a lot of effort into and that had lots of cache with the community that was immediately forgotten because it was a participation award.
Participation awards are ok sometimes, but they rarely hold any meaning to people. Putting the holiday mounts on vendors would reduce them to participation awards.
And no, its not about “Its only special because others don’t have it”(so we can leave the psych 101 nonsense about elitism out of it). Its about the chase and feeling rewarded. Yeah, sometimes you get frustrated, sometimes you’ll fall short. The sweet is never as sweet without the bitter.
Update: I got Arfus on my 62 Demon Hunter who accepted all four curses, failed them, and never did the quest chain.
So my speculation is:
- Doing the quest chain on that specific character or not doesn’t make a difference
- Epic loot pumpkins have goodies, and those can go to any character 60 and above
- RNG is RNG and you can get lucky even without the curses to get the yearly good stuff, it’s just a lower chance by some unknown factor
You see it sometimes. The reasons you don’t see it very often are:
- Because most mount collectors have so many mounts they never use most of them;
- Because it should have been a druid flight form that held a full 40 man raid, with working pyrotechnics in warmode. Yaarh!
Tried with my bear early this morning with curses and got – candy. That’s it. Just candy.
Tried it again after reset, with curses and got – a soulbound plate helm.
It wouldn’t be so aggravating if I could give the helm to an alt.
They must have changed something. I couldn’t get it to drop in 12 years and hundreds of attempts, but got it this year on the druid. Not only that but I got it on my classic wrath lock as well on 1 attempt!!
Still farming for mine its exhausting
So was that the first kill of the day, or after?
It was actually the third or fourth!
Adding my bit here: I got two Arfus drops yesterday (10/19). One was my second run and the other was I think my tenth? I’ve also gotten ten Sinister Squashlings so far. -_- I just want the Saddle. I got the mount on my Death Knight back before mounts were even account-wide (and I thought that was a very fitting drop).
Blizzard, can we just stop with the stupidly low droprate, RNGesus crap for cosmetic stuff? By time we actually see something it’s less of a “I get to enjoy it!” and more of a “About damn time and now I don’t even want to use the stupid thing…”
