Mail/trading and AH on HC realms means there needs to be a substantial level requirement to transfer after death.
Bots or Level 60s farm trade goods in an open world with little or no competition above level 20, trade them to a RMT customer or an alt, die intentionally and then Xfer those trade goods to an established realm.
Iāve been calling attention to this in these past 3 āThis Week In WoWā blueposts. No response yet.
The users exploiting resources of low-pop Era Realms and shuttling them to free Xfer destinations are already established. They have no reason to branch out to the HC realms. That would just be adding unnecessary work.
āYour character is not necessarily lost if you die, however. After dying on a Hardcore realm, players will be able to choose to utilize the Free Character Move service and move their dead character to a non-Hardcore Classic Era realm.ā
Oh thats weird. Thatās a dumb idea. Minimizes the impact of a character death, if you die you can keep playing just on a different realm. Canāt do that in Diablo, if your hardcore character dies there you are never playing it again. Weird that they would have completely different ideas on āHardcoreā within the same company.
Itās worth keeping in mind, WoW is an MMO, Diablo is not. You level considerably faster in Diablo than you do in Era. If someone sunk say 800 hours into a character only for a disconnect to kill them and if they lost everything they might just quit altogether. Also worth baring in mind, youāre paying 15 (or more) dollars a month to do this. Diablo was free after youāve bought the game.
Another game that does Hardcore is Runescape, if a Hardcore character dies, the character isnāt deleted but they lose their Hardcore status and their hiscores stays forever paused when they died. For some the account is now ādeadā since it lost its āprestigeā Iād imagine the same will happen here, some might just continue with their ādeadā character on a normal era server, others will just reroll and go again.
