HC Roleplay Server please!

Title, pretty much. A PvP server would be cool too, but I would love an RP HC server! I’ve been talking with people in Durotar and Elwynn general about it and a lot of people have agreed with me so I’m here on the forums to yell about it some more! It would make it way easier to find other people to roleplay with in HC without having us all scattered to the winds.
Thank you

I support this.

Grobbulous was super popular and it being an RP server helped with that. You don’t even have to enforce RP rules, just give the server the RP label so people can expect RP to be there and not get bullied as much for doing so.

The PvE Realm Bloodsail Buc was a RP Server, so there is a lot of roleplaying that goes on naturally on the regular HC server.

No - I got laughed at when I tried to RP on BSB. We need a place where we can RP without being mocked.

+1 for RPHC server, assuming they even do more than 1.
However, I think we’ll simply get 1 server labeled “Hardcore” instead of “Normal”.
Regardless of the server, I will definitely be roleplaying as much as possible and join an RP guild, or start one if there is none.

Didnt happen to me ever.

Get over being mocked, that some safe space bs. You have a block feature if it gets bad.

I’ve never run into any issues just being a random orc to people.

Funeral RP is gonna take off. Rolling Priest if we get one :joy:

Funerals, armored escorts through dangerous zones, big celebrations when hitting 60, telling tales around a campfire about near death experiences, and of course all the Goldshire girls you can handle.

yeah nothing gets me RP’ing more than blocking 9/10 people that i try to RP with (sarcasm)

It’s is a safe space for RP players, hence the RP tag.
If you aren’t interested in RP why would you even roll on such a server. Just to mock us?
I don’t feel that anyone needs to put up with rotten behavior, and it’s arrogant to believe they must.

This sounds fun ^.^

The best immersion is getting tea bagged by some attention starved clown during story time in TB. :rage:

This, most likely. I’m thinking they’ll do one, maybe two tops, for NA and EU, and it’ll just be tagged Hardcore.

But we’ll see. I would love an additional RP tag but those servers in general are pretty slim… I would actually believe we would get a PvP-HC server before an RP one.

Jarrok sums it up though, and I’m excited to see so many share the sentiment. I’ve seen posts on Reddit about an EU RP community for HC that has sprung up, they have a discord with supposedly 100+ members so far, but no sight of a NA based.

Definitely looking forward to whatever guilds pop up though, and I’ve brainstormed one or two concepts incase I want to spin one up myself.

Well the PTR was called “Normal Hardcore PTR” so this implies other types are possibly on the table? or else it would simply be “Hardcore PTR”.

Bloodsail is an RP PvE server. Some people Roleplay on it some do not.
Moonguard is an RP server, some people roleplay on it some do not.

I do not mock roleplayers, and if someone is mocking you on an RP server just block them, those interactions are too far and few between to warrant a whole server. They might as well simply title the main HC realm RP-PvE HC just so you feel safe… but you’re no safer from one ugly person there as you are on Moonguard. It’s going to happen, so you should adjust your expectations that everyone you talk to will immerse with you into your fantasy. It’s simply not possible there will ever be a place with 100% RP. I have 3 friends on my battlenet friends list right now that do not RP but play on moonguard for the events and the community.

Much appreciated.

It’s kind of hard to block ppl who teabag, jump and other antics when you are having group events. People that don’t RP are not the issue, it’s the ones that have to act out. And over the last couple months it’s been rough.

Look I am sorry to hear that, but my feelings still stand.
I am almost 40 years old, and I have played Online games since I was a wee lad, and one of the things that used to be common knowledge amongst everyone who I knew that played was a clear statement on the boxes we used to buy. That statement was
Online User Experience May Vary

Now I understand you want to feel safer, but no matter what the actual title of the server is you will have people join in to mock, or berate, or make your experience less enjoyable. There is no actual fix that will magically make this stop, aside from reporting and hoping they get dealt with before you log in the next time.

For what it’s worth I am pushing for a PvP server and would primarily play on that, so if they just titled the HC PvE Server with an RP on the side or in the front it doesn’t bother me, but you’ll still get mean people there. I would instead suggest you host your RP events in the larger world, there are tons of places that would serve as better and more secluded spots for gatherings rather than in major cities or just outside them at the local Inns that are getting tons of traffic. Just get a few locks to summon you all out to the Hinterlands to one of my favorite locations, its essentially a whole city Blizzard never finished that’s very Dwarf/Alliance themed. No one is ever there. It’s called Aerie Peak(Wildhammer Keep). If you guys do a good enough job you can make your own little City out of it, with Trade/Vendors, and Repair bots and all. If you do that I’d def come visit, and might even join in a little if they dont make a PvP server for me.

Go explore it before you say no
heres even a little video showing where an innkeeper is (don’t know what version of wow this is though)

Agreed! Blizzard dropped the ball seriously when they didn’t have an RP SoM server. People said “well just decide as a community”, but then the community got split between 3 servers, and RP died out quickly because it was so scarce divided up like that.

Sorry, but RP servers allow RPers to consolidate naturally, and gives us access to open world RP with strangers, particularly in places that low levels have access to. You may not realize it, but most RPers use an addon that shows you a persons RP appearance and profile, and allows you to see other people in your zone that also have the addon.

We shouldn’t be forced to play on non-RP servers that divide our community, and we should expect to be able to RP in peace, and have actionable reporting if being griefed or harassed during RP, just like any other RP server.

Well said. It’s kind of silly this point even needs to be articulated. This should be painfully obvious.

Blizzard always had the three server types. I don’t understand why they seem to be veering away from them now. Like RP’ers and PvP’ers need to be funneled into the Normal servers as sacrificial offerings to make their populations look better?

its simple really. The pvp community is causes nothing but problems on servers. Whether it be Faction inbalance or griefing.

  1. this is a made up scenario
  2. what you define as a “problem” might actually be “fun” for other players

Hardcore RP? Stray clear of the deep run tram.
