I predict with the right changes, and done correctly this server will live just as long or longer than the Normal HC servers due to Bots being unable to farm in contested zones. Did you read that part of my OP?

No one suggested this was going to usurp or bring back any realms or “clones”.
It isn’t hard to see it can bring more money to Blizzard through Subscriptions though. This post has taken off and if the alarm bells sounded and one HC PvP server was on the horizon with my proposed changes or similar ones for that matter, there would easily be hundreds of subs a day playing on these servers. It’s about the money for Blizzard, and before HC came out there were people just like you saying it wasn’t going to last a week, or only 10 people would be on it in a month etc.
Well clearly HC is popular, and it’s Normal servers. That means HC has only ever reached out to the PvE server community thus far and there is tons of untapped potential if a HC PVP server was announced. Time will tell but I don’t think they named the servers HC Normal for nothing.
PvP players enjoy the challenge, and going to Valhalla or nearly so at the hands of Ally or Horde will be as exciting and heart pounding as a Normal PvE HC death. That’s why people like HC, the addictive nature of “Go Agane”.

I honestly do think TBC HC PvP would be a solid choice. It is true that class balance was much better at that time, and a lot of classes finished being fleshed out then.
It also brings Paladin and Shaman across the isle for further faction Balance and there would be actual intense fights for those who make it to Outlands at the PvP Areas like the one near to Thrallmar (the name eludes me).
However I will say, the XP gain, rest XP regeneration and cap, and the levels that you get mounts (20 and 40, then 60 for flying if they keep it) would need to be changed. XP would need to be more like a 10x or more so it feels more like a MOBA or hardly only a few would make it to BC content and so many would die so giving them a not so harsh repeat playthrough would be ideal on any PvP HC server.
It could 100% work, but it needs to be done with specific changes to make it feel more fast paced. PvP players tend to be the type to love to rinse and repeat so they can try to get that thrill or win next time. So things need to be bumped up so that they can do that over and over in whatever zone they make it to to bump up the replayability factor.
I am a visionary and have a big imagination so I can make things work quickly and see how the systems compliment each other, some may disagree but in action these changes would bring in even more people who would otherwise be on the fence.
MOBA WoW HC PvP is a hell of a name, but it needs to essentially run like that.
Speed it up!
Gathering speeds could be increased (faster), movement speed blanket 10% (all travel and mount forms). 10x or more XP gains, Rest XP literally visibly climbs across your XP bar as your online and in a resting area (which should be the whole base/town like major cities to encourage crafting at Stations etc). Mounts at 20&40.
Rogue Scary!
Blanket stealth detection range could be tweaked so rogue really need to come in behind the player and actually stalk properly so they aren’t always getting the jump etc.(a lot of people reading are scared of rogues so debuff them a little,(rogue will population go down which is good, and still be viable by good players)
Town Guards are Level 80 Elite, have stealth detection and ranged + melee, and nets. (No ganking if your in a Forward Base like Gromgol, or Darkshire. Hunter’s flare Area increased, oh my… (make rogues really need to choose targets properly, or just be sneaky AF, they like sneaking around anyway)

Healers, we like them right? Yeah we do, want more of them? Give them their resurrection spells back, we don’t want everyone to be rogues and druids? Think of the Ganks and Ambush that would occur and how much people would pay for your warband to flight path (faster paced FPs like double or triple speed) to come fight off or res them while they wait (with an extended death release timer) for you to come res (Res spells take longer to cast or needs to be focused by multiple players like Warlock Summons) them. That Warband have a Mage? Well hells bells you get Res and Portal back to safety while they put up a front for you.
Just so we’re clear if it is not already, this is turning WoW back to World PvP, Faction War of Attrition. MOBAs have “Matches” the Server has Frequent Resets.Down the line in time give players that played before the reset lasting Season Rewards in the form of awesome Alliance or Horde themed titles, in game cosmetics like War Drums, or Transmogs.
Clearly the Classic Devs were told at some point, they are to please the players and keep us coming back while Blizz either works on a new WoW or just maintains this business model of tweaking the game.

Not sure why people aren’t understanding how the HC PVP server will work. It is pretty simple. You are in the starting zone, fighting a boar. While you are at 70% health, a high level rogue 2 shots you and vanishes. You will go to the forums complaining about dying on a PvP server. You make another character and an hour later, the same rogue kills that character. The cycle will continue until there is no one left on the server for anyone to grief.

Honestly they just don’t read. They see the forum topic, they immediately think of why they wouldn’t play and throw out there opine and move on. These opinions hopefully don’t matter much. They’re clearly not reading the topic or grasping what’s being asked for.
I’ve done several thousand BGs in my WoW time. I’ve played almost exclusively on PvP servers or in Warnode. With all the changes proposed, I still don’t think I’d be interested playing on the HC PvP server.
I do hope you get one. But I think it’s much more likely it would just be PvP enabled, not with all the changes suggested.

Fair PvP Charge Idea -
Layer by level bracket (1-20, 21-25, 26-30, etc…)

Not sure if it has been suggested, but here is my idea.
Perhaps a pseudo-PvP realm could be accomplished by slightly altering the Mak’gora function. Make the server functionally the same as PvE with the one change that if an opposing-faction player challenges you to the Mak’gora (while in contested territory), it automatically accepts, starting the 10 second timer…
If you choose to run like a coward, a debuff labels you as so (but the coward level 20 mage can save his character from the level 25 rogue). Coward debuff could be a minus 25% allstat for one in game hour?
Perhaps people should also be flagged upon entering enemy territory, so that enemy territory remains dangerous.
Edit: Also could make sense to only allow challenge of Mak’gora within HK range.

I really like all the ideas you present here (except the transmog haha); I hope Blizzard reads your ideas, I believe in them and I think they would increase the population of this game a lot.
