To anyone thinking HC players won’t be playing in the next season and it will be a rebirth of the old days I have news for you: HC players are going to be on those servers regardless of them having their own server. It’s just one example but I confirmed this by asking a popular streamer if they were gonna play in the next season and if so will they play it HC or normal? They said HC all the way. Only streamer I asked as well, so 100% yes rate.
HC players don’t want to and according to their rules, aren’t even allowed to run dungeons with non-HC players. Does Blizzard even know this? So what will the next season be? Season of whispering people to run this or that and having to have the same old back and forth about whether they are a hc player or not??? No one is going to do that.
Blizzard needs to step up to the plate with more than a hc server or this game will become solely hc. They aren’t welcome and aren’t wanted in the next season, stick to your own server when it’s released.
First of all your entire argument reminds me of a Fire Marshall Bill sketch… LEMME TELL YOU SOMETHIN’!!!
Second, just for giggles, I do have an answer for your hypothetical problem. No one in the world is required to group with you. If random player Joeshmoqt doesn’t want to run gnomeregon with you, that’s just fine. It doesn’t matter if he is a HC player, an RP player, a determined solo quester or world pvp enthusiast. It doesn’t matter. They do not have to group with you. It’s a non issue.
What’s with the anti-HC complaints? They seem to be more and more common lately… The only people I can understand complaining about it are the 12 players that were RP’ing on BSB. It seems like now, anyone who tried HC and died a few times complains about how toxic HC is and hates the popularity it’s been gaining.
Which server(s) have a meaningful population of non-HC players where a “substantial HC population” exists or is gaining traction? I’m only aware of BSB for a substantial HC population, and there were a dozen RP’ers prior to HC starting the pseudo-fresh there. My understanding is that BSB was chosen primarily for that reason.
No, it was chosen because it’s not merged with multiple servers. The reason it’s not merged was to keep RP players from having to deal with ton of players on non RP servers.
The HC streamers decided it was a good idea to go ahead and bring in a ton of non RP players anyhow. They should have chosen a low pop normal server cluster. RP players haven’t got another place to go.
Wow was intentionally designed NOT to be die-and-delete hardcore, in order to attract players who didn’t like that and other annoying mechanics of games of the time, like full loot PvP. It is only recently that “hardcore” within wow had any definition beyond “plays a lot and/or plays hard content”.
Wait, what? My non HC characters are constantly getting whispers from all over the world to run HC dungeons. It’s just in general a joke that Classic is more sociable because people have to put together groups to do content, because it’s all about trying to guilt some total stranger into tanking or healing for you.
And, I have my own crafting team. I’m not restricted from trading with my alts.
HC players should be banned from non-HC servers just like non-RP players are banned from RP servers. Same level of strictness. There’s absolutely no reason not to have it this way.
Non-HC players don’t want to waste time whispering you for this or that. It becomes a real annoyance and slows down gameplay.
