On all other launches since 2019, we have been allowed to create characters a couple days before launch. This allows us to actually customize our character without have to spend the time at launch to do it, but instead being able to launch right into the game. Even though i know there is no race on hardcore server for most people, i would still like to customer my character before launch. Will this take place?

There is a video on the world of warcraft youtube channel “WoW Community Council Live Chat on WoW classic Hardcore - August 2023”
If you watch that at some point they seem to say there will not be any prior character creation. They also imply they may not release the Server Names until they open (among other things).
This is true. Based on those comments my best guess for USA servers would be 2-4 servers all PVE with no name reservations, opening at the announced time of 3pm PST.
You’re going to die 100000x, no need to reserve names

If there are multiple servers per region, at minimum they should release the names early so we can coordinate with friends and guild members.
