HC does not work with trading

If trading is allowed, here’s what we’ll see:
-Bots farming gold.
-People buying gold.
-Mages selling quest runs in Stockades, Mara, ZG, etc.
-Zero sense of achievement when you realise your tank and healer for the instance you’re running are both in BiS gear, sent from their main.
-The challenge makes no sense when it’s no longer a challenge. The hardest part will be getting to the orange entrance of Mara without being killed.

In my mind, there are three workable options.

  1. No trading until lvl 55+
This way, raiding is possible. You can argue that there is no way for a tailor to get belt buckles without trading or whatever the complaint is but I’d say a recipe being obsolete is less of a big deal that resurrect spells being obsolete.

  2. Players may only trade with others in their guild and only after they have been in the guild 48 hours.
This way, all professions work, guilds are more social and rely on each other more, the 48 hours makes it far more difficult for someone to quickly buy gold from a seller, etc. Probably simple to filter AH listings by guild if they kept AH too.
This also allows for enchants in the guild, lockbox opening, shield spikes etc.
    (This would be my preference)

  3. Any player can trade with any other player at any level as long as their account has a single level 60 character alive on the server. This way, there’s trading at 60 and there’s a reward for hitting 60. Players can eventually trade but they can’t buy their way to 60.

I’d also like to see no XP or loot if someone is partied with a player more than 6 levels above them for basically the same reason.

The fourth by now old idea of limiting trade below level 35 to grey and white items would do the same without forcing people to guild up or limiting professions.
From level 35 to maybe 55 green items get thrown into the pool and after 55 also blues, At level 60 everything is free to buy and sell.

But luckily trade and AH is allowed, so that I can play IronMan, and buy my buckles (Psst I won’t as they are only used for the making of green belts  ) or white shoulders or weapon - vendor weapon in Grey or White quality are expensive; AH is normally cheaper than the vendor.

This is already in the rules - at least the XP part of it.

Here’s an idea. Use an addon that tracks ssf so you guys can all play together!

I dont see bot farms doing well on a hardcore server. Bots die all the time, and when that happens all their loot is no longer valid, not to mention a lot of your complaints have already been addressed:

-Bots farming gold.
Above, bots will be susceptible to death, just as the players, and the AI is not able to completely withstand death.

-People buying gold.
Wrong mentality of the players who will come to the hardcore server, to start out with. Even then, they now have a huge bank of gold that they will lose, and will eat away at their stock of gold with each death.

-Mages selling quest runs in Stockades, Mara, ZG, etc.
Not with the current leveling and dungeon restrictions pertaining to different levels. There is currently the 24 hour lock out, which means that this imaginary mage will only be able to do this once, not to mention they are already applying restrictions for level differences from SoM, so there will be nothing really gained except for loot from this 24hr dungeon run.

-Zero sense of achievement when you realize your tank and healer for the instance you’re running are both in BiS gear, sent from their main.
This is speculation at its highest form. Not to mention, would your opinion be the same if the tank or healer took the time to grind out that BiS gear themselves? At that point, does it really even matter? The main component of dungeons is team work, and team work allows you to come out alive in Classic, not gear.

-The challenge makes no sense when it’s no longer a challenge. The hardest part will be getting to the orange entrance of Mara without being killed.
The challenge is all around us at all times. the wrong pull, a miscalculation, a random mob patrolling around and getting snagged by your radius, these are the challenge. Quite frankly dungeons are a peaceful time compared to regular leveling; You get to enjoy the company of a group of people and work together to achieve the end result of a dungeon.

You my friend are an absolute anchor of a pessimist, and instead of making your worries known on this forum in a constructive manner, you instead whine and keen like a child using their imagination to push your agenda. People have been yammering on to Blizzard about these issues way before you, and we have no current idea on what they’re going to do in the coming update.

The best thing you could have done is make your feelings known in a thread already discussing this.

Calm down. Look at history for your reference.

Wrong. They will obviously change their code and strategy to target lower risk farms to offset having to start over if they die, and even if they do, they can spin up another toon and get it back to farming in a few hours.

These are peopple whose whole income comes from gold selling in some cases, dude, and they have a long and colored history of employing very intelligent, effective, and devious methods of getting their bag. A permadeath rule is the last thing that they’ll let affect the bottom line.

Luckily, most players don’t agree with you and Blizzard knows this. Hence why Aggrand already said the AH, trading and mail won’t be tampered with or changed in any way.

But there’s good news! Those of you who don’t indulge in these game systems anyway can still use your addon, and it will still be updated.

Hooray! Everybody’s happy, and these ridiculous threads from the same few SSF squeaky wheels can end once and for all.

And if you don’t like official HC servers, feel free to play on Bloodsail.

Blizz could make a fortune releasing an OFF LINE, single player game called WOW-SSF for all the people that think an MMO should be played alone…

Why does Blizz not release just a normal server. Absolutely no point in having hardcore death=delete. Most of the playerbase never knew death delete existed anyhow. Waste of development time.

Nope feel free to please move to another server. We’d like to have the RP servers back. Else agreeing.

How about you stop trying to force SSF on people and let them play how they want to? If you want to play by those rules, then feel free to but stop attempting to force them onto others. It’s pointless and asinine.

To add to the point. They wont be able to be instanced. People will actively try to get them killed with feigns, vanishes, mob drags. Boting wont be a problem half of actual people cant make it pass level 11

AH, farming, profs, are a huge part of the fun of classic wow. HC will be so much better with a bank character slowly accumulating and making progress for your attempts on other characters.

I wouldn’t play HC without some way to progress. Dying and losing everything over and over again is insane.

If your version of HC does not allow for trading/AH use, then don’t.

I mean any of the three proposals from OP are better than the garbo that Blizzard is giving us.

I’d like to express my concern and propose some changes for the HC servers. Specifically, I believe there should be restrictions on trading or, at the very least, an indication or buff to show if a player has ever engaged in trading activities. I’ve heard rumors about this possibility, and I think it’s essential to address it. Without proper restrictions, trading could lead to the downfall of HC servers within a few months. Implementing certain restrictions can help keep all players on the same page during hardcore gameplay, promoting a fair and balanced gaming experience for everyone involved.

I’m not sure why you’re worried about boosts. There are two pretty important rule changes that will make life hard for them.

  1. “level 60 players may never enter lower-level dungeons with players below level 60 for any reason”
    …so the boosters can’t be level 60.

  2. “players that are significantly higher level than the creatures in a given dungeon will cause those creatures to grant trivial experience to the other members of the group”
…so low level boostees will get “trivial” xp for their 5g (or whatever).

Blizzard recently mentioned in patch notes that the

“…Soul of Iron system does not yet currently exist on Hardcore realms. We intend to post this system over Hardcore ruleset realms prior to their launch, with a few adjustments.”

There’s hope that we will have a Soul of Iron type buff to track if players traded.

Yes there is the addon – but it’s easily hackable/exploitable.
