HC death transfer to Fresh non-HC server?

They mentioned that if you die in the new upcoming HC server, you can transfer over to a classic era server.
Does this mean you can choose any currently existing server to transfer to?
Or
Will a new fresh non-HC server be released that you transfer to?

Blizzard has not clarified where that transfer will lead. I’m guessing it will be the PVE East cluster since that’s the destination for all other PVE free transfers in Era. The announced hardcore rules sound pretty PVE to me so for that reason not eligible to move to PVP servers. There is plenty of space on existing servers so I’m doubting any new ones will be brought online. We’ll see.

That’s okay, plenty of players are using the new HC server for a fresh substitute. They get that fresh feeling in the leveling zones, and when they die they will have plenty of pals who also got an F transferring to the target server to continue with.

Should make a fresh server to transfer to called hc failures and the only way to get on the server is to die at over a certain level.

Upon death, any active mail in the player’s mailbox will be deleted when a realm transfer is initiated, and any active auctions will be cancelled and deleted.

• Developers’ notes: This was a necessary change to enable dead characters to transfer to a Normal Era realm if they are dead and are unable to retrieve mail or cancel auctions. Please note that the Free Character Move service is not currently testable on PTR. It will function just as it does on live Classic Era servers now when 1.14.4 is released later this Summer.

It’s a free character move and will function as it does on live Classic Era servers now.
Free PVE moves are to Mankrik only.

If and when there is a fresh era server added, it would be unlikely that any HC or any server will be able to transfer to it, as that defeats the purpose of a fresh server.

Not necessarily. If the transfer is done after the first 2 weeks the fresh server has been live then the hype of the server is gone and its 2.5 months away from dying anyway.

Looking at Blizzard’s track record with something similar, how long did they wait before transfers were allowed to the fresh servers they released for Wrath Reforged? Didn’t play on one and didn’t keep up with that but curious.

Thats how I see it. This is a good fresh for those who enjoy leveling, such as myself.
