So my poor warrior lady that died in SF was xfered to the whitemane pvp Era cluster.
Upon first login I still had the self-found buff and was unable to use the mail, but after a relog that buff went away.

Sounds like a bug, not surprising since its character copy, but the NPCs aren’t there in IF to get rid of the SOI buff, so think it also should have been removed. I would submit a bug to Blizzard, they either need to clear the buffs, or put the NPC in on the ERA servers so you can remove it.
My paladin had Tarnished Soul when I transferred him off. It will go away eventually.
Unfortunately yes. The Tarnished Soul debuff does eventually disappear from your transferred HC characters. I would have liked it to stay.
