We should absolutely be able to transfer from HC server on death to either the pvp or pve anniversary realm. HC progression is harder than pvp servers are. You also can’t do BGs on HC servers AND you can’t even really farm honor if you wanted to because it would be insanely risky. There is no real benefit to playing HC. Just implement the same Faction balance system that’s already in place for when people want to transfer. Outside of the auto balancing you’re already doing what is the negative to allowing this?

I agree, we should be able to transfer to the PvP realm.
I hope it’s just an oversight, considering we’re able to transfer HC to PvP on the Classic Era Hardcore realms.
Hopefully Blizz enables this soon.

Nope. You didn’t have to fight through an army of pissed off Alliance to get to level 47 or whatever. You didn’t have a 10man Alliance raid sitting outside of Tarren Mill for hours the opening weekend, killing any Horde leveler that tried to leave. You don’t have roving groups of Alliance ganking every major quest area in Thousand Needles, STV, Desolace or the Badlands. You didn’t have to fight tooth and nail to complete this quest or that quest.
Are there difficulties to leveling Hardcore? Sort of… It’s pretty easy though. It’s not like you’re SSF. My Orc Warlock is level 47 now and I have only died during death skips while leveling. I’ve yet to actually dies to mobs. I’m on the softcore PvP server, but it’s not like it’s hard not to die. I do agree there are difficulties though. You might avoid some quests, or do some quests later than otherwise. You might find it a little harder to find dungeon groups. That’s all fair.
But it pales in comparison to having entire zones be essentially Vietnam of world PvP. You haven’t EARNED that 47 on a PvP realm. Hardcore doesn’t pay that toll.
Blizzard has, historically, not allowed PvE to PvP transfers for precisely this reason. They don’t want you leveling in the safety of PvE, then transferring to a PvP realm and terrorizing lowbies when you were never on the other side of that encounter. I wouldn’t hold your breath.

That is literally nothing. Losing all your progress because of death is much worse to deal with than getting ganked. You absolutely pay that toll LOL. I don’t know why you’re making it sound so dramatic. When they did this the first time you could transfer to a pvp server. There is nothing different now.
It was quite dramatic for a very long time. You must have a short memory. There are threads archived from 2007 and 2008 having this argument with Blizzard persistently and definitively saying “no” to PvE → PvP transfers. From 2007 all the way to 2024, that was the rule. It was the rule for 17 straight years,
They did change it in 2024 specifically for the dead era realms. They wanted essentially one or two “mega servers” which at that point were PvP (Whitemane, mostly) so they HAD to allow PvE to PvP transfers to get everyone to Whitemane cluster. They really didn’t have a choice unless they wanted to let era die. It wasn’t because they changed their mind on the 17-year outstanding rule.
Familiarizing yourself with a bit of the history, and the context of the exception, would likely help you better digest the truth.
Not the same challenge if you want a pvp fresh server character make one you dont get to do hardcore challenge die halfway through and go guess this is my pvp toon nah thats not hardcore at all.
That’s not how that works though. If you die on HC server you can transfer to the pve server. So yeah you should be able to also choose the pvp server. Why are you pvp weirdos gatekeeping the server lol

i don’t even play on the pvp server i just think your idea is dumb you didn’t play on pvp server you don’t get to free transfer one when you die lol. I don’t even support the pve transfer if it dies it should just die.
My advice to you is don’t wait until you die, go ahead and make a toon on the server you want to play. You are not a HC player. Death character means death character, you should not be able to play it anymore, anyhow on any server ever again. That is the beauty of HC. You are talking about progression, like it’s the end goal. HC is about the journey, if you want competitive progression you should try the race for “world first” in the new upcoming retail raids.
Well I’m glad Blizzard doesn’t see it the way that you do. Every other game that has HC allows you to transfer to what they would call “standard.” So I dont know why you’re saying it’s a dumb idea. When it’s already something Blizzard is doing lol
I don’t follow are you saying anything blizzard does is good. Its simple to me you die in hardcore you die I’m not surprised they have free transfers they don’t want to deal with ignoring a bunch of ticket because of how people are but for me even this is soft and anything but hardcore a pandering to not have to deal with emotional gamers who imo shouldn’t be playing hc anyway. When my kid wants to play with me the first thing i tell hi is that fine but dont get attached to the character if it dies it dies. All that being said you have never been able to transfer from pve to pvp. If you want characters on both make on both harder not harder whatever never have they let pve transfer to pvp because it makes no sense. I wouldn’t care if they did I’m not playing anything but hc right now but its not happening man your asking them to put apples in the orange bin bro it doesnt matter how great your apples are its still the orange bin lol
Look man I don’t care what you consider HC or not. You can flex all you want about HC being permanent death. Just because you have this mindset doesn’t mean anything. They have let you go from pve to pvp before. They let happen before and they should let it happen again. The main reason for not being allowed to go pve to pvp is because pve is considered easier to do things in the open world. So yeah it makes sense. However this is HC and you have 0 advantages. You can’t even farm honor on the HC server. So once again it makes no sense to not let HC go to PvP server.

So if I die on Anniversary Hardcore Server, I can’t transfer to the Anniversary PVE server?
If you die on Anniversary HC, you can only transfer to the PvE Anniversary Normal Server.

The players that joined the HC server with the idea to transfer once they die are the ones that are griefing groups and wiping raids. Please die already and be gone, you don’t belong here. Only ppl that will go again value their character lives and the lives of the other characters they play with.
Go again and transfer are not opposites. I go again ever so often or just roll another alt - but I transfer too … like ones who got nice drops, almost made it, have some reputations at max … not all and sundry, byt special ones.

PS. this sounds as if I die all the time, I don’t, and I have made it to 60 as well.
