Havoc has a MAJOR problem, demon blades talent build

this new wowhead/icy vein build has a MAJOR problem, fury starvation.

I can sit for a few seconds and can’t cast blade dance or chaos strike because of the amount of abilities cost in fury and demon blades can’t generate because often times my auto attacks miss… how did this make it through the ptr, because demon bite is not recommended for fury generation.

I think your not playing correctly, or using the proper rotation. Are you using Fel Rush in combination with Vengeful Retreat? I have so much Fury, once I forced myself to start using that in my rotation. I too was Fury starved before getting used to it. Now, I Fel Rush and then pop Retreat and the Fury bar fills up fast. Or, I will Vengeful Retreat and then Fel Rush back to target, depending on how mobs around the area are. I use Vengeful Retreat a lot now, once I realized it help generate Fury.

I was very reluctant to adapt to this new "high movement " playstyle at first. Since doing this, my DPS has gone way up.

While I’ve gotten some bad luck and had a few times being fury starved its not a major problem, I usually have more than I can spend. Make sure you’re not over capping with fel blade and sigil.

I’m slapping with my normal haste cycle of hatred build and it has no fury problems. There’s a very small amount of time on a really long fight where I run out of steam completely for a couple seconds but that’s it.

Nuclear bomb build isn’t the only way.

I think the immo non haste build really needs to use all their fury generators conservatively, which is tough when they are big chunks of your damage you want to put on cooldown constantly.

Vengeful retreat, felblade, immo aura all give fury.
If you are still starved, make sure you have enough haste, like 17%+

a lot of dh’s don’t pick up their shattered souls…as a DH you have high mobility…part of your rotation should include picking up those orbs not only to heal yourself but also manage your resources. Try it out

This, you unironically need to be A/D strafing like a cringe ADHD melee player because shards won’t be picked up if you stand completely still, just a slight shimmy in both directions will slurp them up.

I used to run the shard talent before the rework and I’m guessing a lot of people aren’t used to it.

Also a good strat to stand completely still to stack shards for something like fel barrage.

Does haste actually give you a net increase in fury when you are also spending fury faster with BD/CS?

Chaos strike is nearly the lowest thing on the priority list of casting; its a fury dump.

If you are using your full kit you will be moving and thinking about positioning more, and casting higher prio spells, rather than fury dumping + standing still + feeling bored.

Haste also reduces the GCD which makes it easier to act / react faster for stuns and kicks.

You didn’t answer my question lol. You’re only fury starved if you’re wanting to press chaos strike. You suggested haste for more fury but I don’t think there’s a net gain of fury with haste. You get more fury but also spend it faster.

Haste used to increase fury with demon blades before 10.0, probably still does.
Two swords generating it, one gcd spending it.

Stacking haste too much will make everything hit like a wet noodle with 0 burst dmg.

There is no reductive “just do X” solution that lets you ignore the details and stop thinking.

The details are the interesting good parts anyway.

Let the ADD run rampant! AD spam all day baby!

Yeah haste increases fury gen linearly from immo cd and demon blades. Just wondering where you got that magic number of 17% haste to fix fury problems lol.

the fix is probably not haste, the issue is probably op not pressing vr and sigil of flames

I feel attacked

I pulled it out of my butt; its full of shadowlands era information that’s no longer relevant.

Go ahead and stack haste and stand still.
Don’t use half your abilities.
Pretend you’re a purple fury warrior lol.

Make mistakes so you can learn from em and make your own decisions.

Oh alright hahaha
