I logged in to get my Anniversary mail and was having trouble clicking on things. I’d click and nothing would happen.
Turned off my addons, nothing. So, I reset my user interface (a full reset and renamed the Cache, Interface, and WTF folders to CacheOld, InterfaceOld, and WTFOld. I didn’t delete them.
The interface reset fixed the clicking issue, but created another one.
Now, I can’t get my addons back. I know just enough about these things to break them, apparently. Can someone help me, please?
Go back into the game directory and delete the new folders the game created after you renamed them, and then delete the “Old” from the original folders. The game will go back to looking in there.
Bear in mind that you’re going to have to do this every time something crops up, if you don’t find the addon that was giving you issues and either update or remove it.
You can do this by not following the first step, and then just right-click the folder of one addon at time, select the “cut” option, and then paste it in the new Interface -> Addons path, quitting and rebooting the game every time. When you encounter the issue that made you reset in the first place, you’ll know you found the culprit.

I’m pruning my addons a bit. Some that I just don’t use much and some that could be doing it. It’s really okay to just delete the “Old” off the other folders? Will that put my game settings back? I’m kind of particular about them and the reset really messed everything up.
The only thing that changed when you added “Old” to the folders was where the game was looking for them. Nothing more. Any settings you had for them are still neatly contained within the original folders, provided you did nothing more than just add the “Old” to them.
As the game is looking for the folders plainly named Interface, Cache, and WTF (demonstrated when it created brand new ones after the rename), it will always look for those folders.

Thank you! I think I’ll just try addon by addon…or see if my pruning has weeded out anything. Thank you so much!
You’re very welcome, and I wish you the best of luck in your search! If you need more assistance with addons, please don’t hesitate to continue this thread and someone will certainly chime in.

It worked! -knocks on wood- No addon sorting required! Just took deleting about six of them, apparently.
