Having fun with Frost!

I am pleasantly surprised by how much fun playing Frost is.

Ive had a Blood DK for a while and have played a good deal of Unholy, reaching KSM in previous seasons on but recently tried Frost and I have to say, its good fun.

After maining a tank and healer for a while it is a breath of fresh air to just relax and play something that flows very easily.

I like the simple rotation and lining up the huge one minute burst windows.

I like it so much, I even went back to level a fresh DK just to get the full growing experience.

Anyways, no complaints, drama or smack talk. Just expressing my enthusiasm for the spec. Cheers!

Edit: what’s a good leggo combo for Necro Frost for M+(exclusive).

Thanks!

I’m playing biting cold for frost. It’s a nice leggo.

Biting cold. And if you’re going for mplus excusively, I’d suggest trying Night Fae. Death’s due is up every pack, and if you run obliteration build, it provides more consistent damage.

However, Abomination limb is very fun and less placement specific. My personal sims on the 2 are very close without a full tier set. Not sure how that will change with full tier, but guides say night fae for mythic plus.

Anyway, I recently went back to my DK because they gave my other favorite class basically no tier for mplus. And I agree it has been a ton of fun. I can’t wait to really start increasing my gear and seeing where the damage can go.

My only struggle so far is getting used to being in melee again. So much more stressful than range most of the time.

Biting cold is the only choice here.

Good news is it’s a fun leggo

I would recommend breath build, that is the most fun thing I’ve done as a frost dk

Glad to see a positive post! The spec is fun, and has been plenty viable for most of SL. I super enjoyed frost last season.

Our set bonuses is one of the best IMO. It smooths out our dps and is very visually rewarding. Am a happy camper as well.

Please don’t post positive feedback here.
This forum is strictly for people to ask whether 2H or DW is better.

Biting cold is the go to Lego for M+.
If you are not locked into necro, nightfae will do significantly more cleave/aoe damage especially during your POF window.

Let me guess…BM Hunter?

I don’t think there is a worse tier than that one.

Yep. I came back to wow because my group was just planning on having fun. But then with them always like ‘we gotta keep pushing up past 20s.’ I’m sitting here going, uh… this is about my ceiling right now.

And while survival is fun, I’m mad about playing a non bm hunter. So if I have to play melee I’d rather play the one that I enjoy the most of the melee classes.

Actually I find the obliteration build to be very boring and stale

fixed it again for you.

is this going to turn into a regular thing?

It might. Obiliteration build is just a wanna be breath build but without the cool visuals or punishment for messing up.

Obliteration is mighty fine. It’s a good step away from a Biting Cold build that I use Breath to fuel the storm.

Especially when a 20k+ Obliterate cleaves into another target? -Chef’s kiss- :ok_hand:

Same here! I play both builds and occasionally swap out to each covenant whenever I want to switch things up.

Biting Cold is 100% must for m+. It slaps and RW is such a low CD.

I enjoy NF Oblit build as well - just not when the tank moves out of it to kite for no apparent reason. :pensive:

Is the Howling Blast proc really that good for aoe? Im honestly asking, as neatly all my dk experience is Blood and Unholy.

The Biting Cold Leggo is the one that forces a Howling Blast proc each time Remorseless Winter is used correct?

Im just trying to put together in my head how this build will play at endgame. Ive got a couple DKs. I have one I tanked KSM with in s2 and recently leveled a new one as Frost to get used to the abilities.

Im just waiting for my friend to repay some gold lol so I can grab the Biting Cold and try it out.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback.

Biting Cold is really good because Remorseless Winter is a very strong ability. Gaining Rime when there are more than 3 targets is just icing on the cake.

Combined with Gathering Storm and Everfrost, with enough haste and with such a low cooldown of Remorseless Winter, you have the ability to roll with it. Using Breath of Sindragosa and Obliterates to fuel the flame and Pillar of Frost to complement this playstyle.

Biting Cold just makes the paragraph I described above have 30% increased effective in terms of dealing damage.

This used to be my build in 9.1 and I actually had a blast from it. I do recommend it and you will not regret crafting Biting Cold legendary from it for this expansion!

I think it’s more a matter of in consistent aoe situations (as well as increased passive damage single target) biting cold is easy to use and makes you hit everything harder with little effort or jankiness. The howling blast rime proc with 3+ targets is just a nice benefit that makes the start of your aoe rotation feel even better.

Is Biting Cold equally good inn Obliterate build? Or is only used with Breath?

Ideally, Id like to have the option to play both builds as Ive already began my quest for a pair of good one-handers and I already have a great 2-hander.
