Have You Recovered?

With all the news of the horrible things that have happened with the dev team I was wondering if people felt like they have recovered from the incidents & Shadowlands expansion.

Personally with the changes at the company and all the good stuff in 9.1.5, I’m feeling much better about the future.

Are you on the path to healing or is there more left to do?

Skeptical, hesistant, being careful.

I need to see change, I’m fully ready to abandon ship if either Shadowlands doesn’t recover and especially if 10.0 is just as big of a mess.

9.1.5 has promise, but I can’t help thinking the only reason they are adding those things (ie customization’s) is to persuade players back into playing for a bit. Then drop the possible :poop: bomb that could be 9.2.

A lot of the changes coming in 9.1.5 could’ve been avoided if they had just listened to some players back in the Alpha / Beta. Like they should’ve also done in BFA and Legion, but Blizzard never learns.

Talk to cheap… especially in the corporate world.

Healing? I guess if that’s the word. I started playing last week… but

this ^^^ yeah, cautiously optimistic.

No I don’t feel recovered. Nothing has really changed in the real world for the employees. For players, we’re still sitting here with what we’ve had for most of the year. And we’re sitting here with reminders that while they chose to listen recently over some things, there are still a lot of changes players have been asking for for years.

It still doesn’t feel good to log in. Ive spent time with other games and have been having a good time. I see that time to grow if nothing changes or if the Wow team doesn’t begin to talk with the players.

I don’t really care about politics or what she said he said, As expansion goes it is what it is💁‍♂️. WoW will continue for better or worse lol I just want more content or announcement of next expansion in few months.

Internally the company is still trying to deny/downplay what the lawsuit claims. One week issue a statement about not knowing how bad it was and vowing to clean it up, and then follow that up by going on a document shredding spree to cover up what was known and was going on.

The devs, especially the game director need someone above them to remind them what they are doing is not good enough. The devs surround themselves by people that only praise them, and how everything is great, great, great. Which is not only untrue, but leads to failure after failure. The past two expansions alone have seen the active account numbers fall off a cliff. This crew is ignoring the present and future, by looking at the past and somehow thinking they were a part of that success. These devs are part of the decline.

There is no “good stuff” in 9.1.5 other than a couple setting tweaks. They never admitted they made the wrong choice on anything. Only trying to brainwash people that they still did the right thing even though nobody else felt that way (the players).

I saw some type of Twitter, or other platform blurb by a dev stating they are amused when they see players complaining that they (the players) never asked for these disastrous things, and that someone did, which were the devs.

They all need to be reminded that the game is payed for by the players, not the devs. The players are the ones that allow you to make that obnoxiously high salary.

The dev culture needs to be turned around before any type of “healing” can happen. Right now the devs are basically still picking at an open wound, that will never heal.

I share your worry about what 9.2 will be like. For me if it happens in the Shadowlands I already hate it.

I couldn’t care less about the dev team’s personal or workplace matters. I don’t buy/play games because I like the people who made them. I’m not saying it’s wrong for people to have convictions, but I’d be willing to bet most of the offended players shop for good/services from plenty of companies that do much worse, and never bat an eye.

Not me.

None of these things are genuine, significant changes. They are all scrabble-to-cover-our-butts changes.

Not one bit. The amount of denial, lies, spite, ignorance and dirty secrets that has been shown to us now just makes me feel that there’s no hope for future stuff. They’ve completely soiled everything they’ve published from then and now.

Mike Ybarra seems like a cool dude ( Even he’s not hyped about going to do Torghast. I ain’t even kidding )
Some quality of life improvements
Precious Incubus Boy soon

I just wish it didn’t take all this to get to it. I’ve always wanted a incubus but I’m not thrilled someone had to freaking die for it.

No, not even close. They have still to apologize to those who they have taken Swift action against and removed their well earned NPCs for false allegations. I’ve yet to see any sort of meaningful progression towards their redemption at all…and it’s been a few months of attempts.

Man people heal pretty quickly

Given how #ABK haven’t had their demands heard it’s not really up to you whether the situation has healed or not. It’s obviously hasn’t.

For those who stand with the abused employees the fight isn’t over until a lot has changed and blizz listens to their employees demands or they unionize.

For those waiting for the game to get better (like myself) these changes are nothing and is what usually happens at the year mark of a bad expansion.

So On both takes nothing has changed.

For those waiting for a better game experience all the hope is in 10.0 not 9.2 and so forth. During the beta if the issues talked about by the players gets ignored like it has been for the past 4 years and the game goes live it’ll be a disaster.

For many that’ll be the nail in the coffin for them. Blizzard gave the players a solid chance to play other mmos (ffxiv, new world, eso, gw2) and that was a huge mistake. This is the first time since I started playing wow back in tbc that I am actually see myself not playing the next expansion if it doesn’t give me what I want instead of just “trying to enjoy it”.

I have other mmos now and both have new expansions coming up. I have recovered from only my WoW addiction. We’ll see what 10.0 brings

To be fair. We weren’t the ones abused.

I don’t see the point of guessing if they improved or not. I wasn’t abused nor know anything about their workplace and peers.
Also i highly doubt they do more than what they are told to do. As game developers they are usually there to execute stuff, doubt that aside ion they have much of a voice.

I’m waiting for Blizzard to stop telling me I’m a bad person so I can start recovering. Clearly, they’re better people than I am, and I should look to them for moral direction.

Sensible.
