Why did you?
Did you regret it? Or was it beneficial/worth it?
Not talking about when a boost is tacked on to an expansion.

Lmao, no, it’s more expansive than the expansion in my country, to say it’s not worth it is an understatement, especially since leveling is so braindead nowadays you can get to max in 6 or so hours.
Nope. Only bonus boosts that came with expansion packs. I can’t imagine paying $60 for something I can achieve in an afternoon.
No, I enjoy leveling.
Boosts should not be a thing, first they are $80 AUD, no chance of spending that to save a couple hours of levelling, that’s 3 hours of work to buy a boost when I could spend 3 hours of levelling and almost be there anyway.
Second, anyone who boosts, unless it’s a second alt of a class they already play, they will not know how to play, and that’s not good. People boost to get into higher content quicker, they buy a boost, pay for a levelling service (can be done with gold), then pay for dungeon and raid carries all for what? So they can say “Look at me, it only took me a week to get KSM and AOTC”.
What even is the point of anything like this? The idea of this game is to play the game, and if you don’t have time over 22 weeks to level to max level, run content and push for anything, that’s on you, maybe you need to re-assess what your goals are in game and in life. That’s 6 months give or take per season to push to a high enough iLVL and get done what you want done.
To put it into perspective I got my paladin to ~372 iLVL and ran a heroic raid as tank, got AOTC on 3rd March, this week at 405 iLVL I started running M20 dungeons at 1400 rating (timed all but 1 dungeon). Today I am 2330 rated and next week I should be able to push 2500 rating. I also pushed 1800 rating in solo shuffle and have almost completed my conquest set.
All this on an alt.
Never, I leveled my alt army with all the cool tricks.
I can level you too for gold!
nope.
i’ve only ever used the freebies.
…and i still haven’t used all of them yet.
Nope, the first levels in chromie time aren’t something I’d want to skip anyway.
i dont think so?
maybe?
but i cant be certain.
i have used most of the free ones you get but i also hold on to them.
generally, when i use a boost its to get a character on the opposite faction and or different server.
I forget if I bought one for a DK during legion or if I used the expansion one then, I’m fairly certain I paid for one. Don’t regret it, I played that character thoroughly in Legion and BfA.
I have abandoned almost all my expansion-included boosted characters though.
Not that I can recall.
And why the Hell would I pay to completely skip a chunk of the game I’m already paying to play?
Never have, and considering how much of a joke leveling in general is now, never will.
I recently did 1-70 in about 18 hours on an alt, and that wasn’t even using any of the more efficient routes as I wanted to clear out some older zones for an eventual Loremaster run.
By far not a speed record, but not the slog it was 18 years ago either.
I’ve only used the xpac ones. I have 2 accounts that I used to play on a reg basis. I left for a bit so only 1 now.
I only used them when I was too lazy to roll a new toon on a friends server or pay for a xfer.
I won’t buy one and I don’t buy runs in the game either. I’m just that way
No way. Leveling is easier than ever now. If I want a new race/faction I roll a new toon, doesn’t happen often though.
I have such bad adult ad/d and ocd if I want to play a new spec I have to re-roll cause the bars change. Every game I play is like that
People who buy leveling boosts are suckers. Even more so now because leveling is so fast and easy.
Well, a lot of people buy boosts from shady places still so even with fast leveling it seems that a lot are reluctant to just do it.
Leveling in WoD or Legion is fast. Especially WoD.
I Never have.
I honestly see the appeal, but I just like to put investment and time and progression into everything I do in wow. I just don’t understand the point.
Alot of people who use the boosts often times just want to get to the end game and raid, because leveling is annoying. But for me, I honestly do not mind leveling in both classic and retail versions of wow.
But boosting is there for those who want that option to of skipping levels.
I don’t understand raid boosts though. Raiding should be that thing that only a select amount of people can actually get through, as it is the main meat of end game content.
I feel like raiding you are basically playing the game at a different level. A more competitive level if you will. Plus it costs to much gold. Carries can be expensive to. I mean, I don’t really raid anyways. Nothing past casual 5 mans and casual pvp content. But I can live without raiding.
Like I get that raiding has alot of cool rewards and gear and all that. But I think that should be reserved for the players who earned that with hard work and skill. That is just me I guess though.
Either way, there is a market for that to. And you can buy wow tokens to get gold to be able to buy the raid carry boosts as well.
I honestly don’t even use the free level boosts that come with each expansion either. I just don’t see the point. Leveling is such an important component to any RPG, and I think skipping it, even though I have done it hundreds of times, I just don’t feel any investment in the toons if I don’t level them manually.
I feel this is also why I never really get burned out of wow either. Because I never really actually reach the end quickly. I am always able to find something I want to do in the game, that I haven’t already done, or already paid to skip in the first place. It still keeps it fresh.
My next toon is going to be the evoker class. That class seems wildly fun. And like every other class, I will take my time, and learn each level, do some dungeons here and there, and finally make it to 70.
