Have You Ever Been In A Situation Where WoW And Real Life Got Far Too Close?

So my first proper professional experience was an internship in a steel-making plant.

And I had to cross several train tracks on foot to get to the lunch place.

That was during WoD, with the Blackrock Foundry raid.

So basically raiding Operator Thogar always makes me hungry.

i want to let you know that isnt the right feeling blizzard intended you to have during a raid boss encounter.

I had a similar situation. I had to put on these derpy goggles while welding and i yelled " For gnomregan! " without even thinking twice. No one got the reference.

When people I met in WoW want to talk outside of WoW. Like whoah nelly, what have I gotten myself into?

Not really, but there have been times when I’m stuck in traffic, wishing I could use a hearthstone.

I’m a firefighter.

…I was not thrilled with the whole Teldrassil thing.

For me personally? Not really. But I had a friend who named her daughter after her WoW character. That was pretty cool. (Airianna).

And on the negative side of things, my sister got her identity stolen by an ex guild member, so … there’s that. >.>

Wow, how awful!

On topic: Nothing I can think of, but your story is funny Mortis.

Oceanic guilds are pretty chummy like that and seen them organise gatherings at the local pub. I don’t drink anymore though.

Yeah, I don’t remember the exact details, as it was back in BC. But something like … she bought him something and he saw her debit card number or something, and since he knew her real first and last name (we were all kinda close), he somehow got access to her bank account. Got like $400+ IIRC.

Never trust people on the interwebs. XP

Haha, yeah. I have had a couple of creeper stalker-y guys, but thankfully no one has tried to steal my money. :stuck_out_tongue:

I can’t say that I have.

I’m reasonably certain that I haven’t ever felt the need-- or had the opportunity, for that matter-- to get up, shower, have breakfast, put on my magical bikini and go to work throwing fireballs, anyhow.

That would be a good way to either get a raise, or get fired. I am not sure which is more likely.

Poor child.

I keep the two separate because no one cares anyway.

Not WoW specifically.

But I used to pick up things and instinctively apply a weapon type to them.

2x4? My mind immediately thinks “huh, 2h blunt”

On the same page, I would also assign real life appropriate stats to items (and still do sometimes). Oh I just bought a hot chocolate? Drinking this will increase my frost resist by 50 for ten minutes

We went on vacation from Texas to California after the DH came out. The plateaus in the desert drew my attention when my hubby was driving. I envisioned my DH gliding from plateau to plateau. It made the trip a lot more fun.

You’re too close!
