Have you encountered the Theramore Bug?

I reported this in game a couple patches ago and it’s STILL not fixed! I’ve also posted in the bug forum but posting here as well to see if the masses have encountered this or if its just me that’s unlucky for some reason.

Basically the time travel npc (Zidmori) in Dustwallow Marsh DOES NOT retain player preferences. As a result, every time I port there or even travel there normally, the zone reverts to its current state where Theramore is destroyed. No other time travel npc i’ve encountered (e.g. the one in Silthilus, Darkshore, Arathi etc.) has this issue. Its clearly a bug since when you port there, you can see some npc’s spawn in and the instantly fade away, not to mention a whole bunch of floating geometry such as chairs where the central tower would have been and immediately falling from a height since porting spawns you where the tower would have been etc.

I have noticed the following:

  • Leaving the zone normally and coming back results in the zone automatically reverting itself again.
  • Porting out and back also results in the zone automatically automatically reverting itself again.
  • I can always tell the zone has bugged out because I lose the “Time Traveling” debuff.
  • The “Time traveling” buff is a debuff in Dustallow Marsh whereas all other time traveling zones such as Darnasus or Silthilus, the “time Traveling” icon is shown as a buff. Not a debuff.
  • The issue began when I did the “Tell me of Theramore’s Fall” from the Pandaria story scenario storyteller (Lorewalker Fu). But that may be coincidence.
  • I tried redoing the Pandaria scenario in the hopes that it would fix it but it made no difference.

I have not encountered this bug ? Maybe I am just lucky .

not really sure it’s a bug… this is how Theramore has worked since it was nuked.

some what related.

there is a quest in blasted lands while doing VANILLA loremaster. if you hop inside the box and then pop out to complete the quest it phases you to WOD blasted lands and you don’t get credit.

luckilly you can complete the quest without the box.

so not the same zone but random things can trigger it it seems.

So you’re saying the games meant to have floating geometry/chairs and npc’s that spawn and fade away instantly and porting there dumps you in mid-air and the time travel npc behaves differently to all her sister npc’s???

Unfortunately, the Mana Bomb used destroyed not only our Theramore, but every Theramore that has ever existed (at least if they were in that same spot, as well as anything else that may have been there). Was Ogre-mart… I mean Orgrimmar built there in an alternative reality? Too bad. Alternate reality Orcs got blown up by themselves.

This means that whenever you talk to the Bronze Dragon there, she teleports you to another alternate Theramore. But when you leave, the Mana Bomb hits and you’re back to square one and have to ask for another Theramore to visit.

Or… it’s just a bug.

You need to talk to the NPC in the DeLorean.

This has been a bug since the Fall of Theramore happened. It’s been around so long that I don’t think Blizzard will ever deal with it, at this point.

the mid-air chairs are comparatively new… i think those started around the time Alcaz Island got updated. (yep, that long ago)

…but yes, if you’ve completed the scenario, you defalt into the “current” Theramore.

Not sure if that’s working as intended, but it’s working as it always has.

Wow…it’s that old? :hushed:

Well if it’s meant to be that way, they should at least update mage port location (like they did with Darkshore/Darnasus) and remove the floating chairs…
