Have you chosen your covenant?

With the recent tuning of chain harvest I’m feeling more up in the air.
Does anyone else feel that fleshcraft could be good for ENH as more defense?

Without further buffs/changes unfortunately necrolord is a dead covenant for enh.

But the truth is we won’t actually know until after the first week of heroic, as they will be buffing and changing right up until mythic opens

I was planning to go venthyr whether or not it sucked since shadowlands was announced and Im still sticking with the idea.

Going Venthyr still. Shaman won’t be my main so I don’t mind a slight DPS loss as much, but the Venthyr mail set is the only set I really like, and the ability is decent for Ele & Enh, so Venthyr it is.

I love the idea of primal wave and how it works with the toolkit :yum:

Plus necrolords has thralls mom so itll be chill

Isn’t Venthyr still way stronger for DPS shaman anyway due to MSW/echoing shock?

I am resolved to go Kyrian unless its literally worse by a country mile.

Resto Necro Bone Boi here. Primodial Wave has great synergy with our legendaries :+1:t6:

It’s up in the air right now. Fae Transfusion is looking like the best ability purely numerically, but is mechanically a trash ability with much lower utility than chain harvest so we’ll see…

Only single target.

Setting aside the conduit, on a premade 60, fae transfusion is doing 5700. CH is doing 2070 x 2 w/MSW or echoing shock = 4140. As soon as you go to two targets, FT stays at 5700 split into 2900 each, CH goes up to 8280 with 4140 per target.

Even with conduits, 5700 x 1.3 = 7400 which is still less than baseline CH on two targets. And CH keeps going up to 5 targets and does even more healing than damage.

So CH seems like a no brainer to me.

Even just based on numbers and setting aside how much easier CH is to use and the fact that it has a shorter CD (1.5 min reduced by crits vs 2 min).

We are the same. I will be choosing covenant based on what I feel my character would like to go into and which story I would like to see first haha. Was hoping there was a covenant which would involve Arthas more when SL was first announced buut it seems since he is in the maw and that we would all see him in the future there regardless of which covenant we join

I am leaning towards night fae now since am interested in Tyrande’s storyline even though I am a Sylvanas loyalist haha

I have no idea which to choose. At first I thought Kyrian would be good and a totem would fit our theme more.

Honestly I am just going to choose which is best for PvP DPS. I am tempted to go Necro for an added defensive, but from what I am hearing the bubble sucks for ENH. If they were equal in viability I would go ENH over ELE, but I’ll play whatever is viable. So looking like I’m going ELE unless there are drastic changes.

Any suggestions for someone like me who wants to play both DPS Specs in PvP?

A little direction would be much appreciated.

If you’re PvPing regularly, I’d go Venthyr. Best dmg ability and will help you in your pve content too.

Yeah all I do is PvP. I only PvE if forced to :joy:. Does Venthyr work as a defensive too?

The only “defensive” component is the heal, and it does have a cast time so be careful when you use it.

I cannot believe I’m defending Fae Transfusion, as I hate the ability with a burning passion, but I just jumped on the beta and did some testing. I included both covenant conduits, because realistically you won’t ever play without them.

On my 194 characters with PvP gear these are the numbers I was getting:

Chain harvest: 3,060 per target, 2.5 second cast
Fae Transfusion: 11,700 (times 1.2 when using MoTE so 14,107), 1.9 second channel

Chain harvest has been nerfed to the point where you really don’t even want to echo it anymore (its better to echo EQ at 8 targets, better to echo Icefury probably on 3 and better to echo lava burst on 1-2) other than to get the benefit of double healing.

We will have to check the sims of course, but chain harvest is now looking like it will only be better DPS wise if you are consistently pulling packs of less than 8 and more than 3, and echoing it every time, and even then its iffy. Combined with the fact it doesn’t generate maelstrom it has just become a clunky addition to your rotation.

These numbers are for elemental, I didnt get a chance to look at enh yet.

Edit: did a quick look at enh

Chain harvest 3.1k*2
Fae Tranfusion: 11k (at 18% mastery and can be buffed by earthen spike, and i may have had int trinkets on :O)

But venthyr has the smarter heal, and a chance to lower the CD with its conduit. The heal range on transfusion is :-1:t6: but I’m also speaking from a resto PoV.

If you’re looking at transfusion for dmg then I assume you’re looking to pvp with it; getting interrupted out of transfusion is a nature lock which is a lot of our abilities vs venthyr’s shadow school.

Oh you don’t have to tell me, I despise the ability, I think it’s absolutely one of the worst mechanical abilities to be ever brought into the game.

I am simply debating the pure numerical dps values from a PvE standpoint. You’re right, as resto PvP take necro or venthyr

What’s the 1.5? MSW is x2.

Lol my bad, X2! Fixed it in the original post.

Idk I still haven’t played enhancement a ton, so I would have to test a little more but chain harvest is probably still better for enh you’re right.

For ele I would lean towards fae transfusion numerically now, although if I was pushing keys as ele I would still take chain harvest for the heals
