Have you “given up,” on collecting ground mounts?

Curious if I’m the only one who feel this way, but with dragonriding available basically everywhere I haven’t felt any urge to collect new ground mounts that require RNG

I realize some dungeons and zones only low ground mounts but I have plenty for those. I used to try for the zombie raptor from BFA on 10 characters a week now since I realize I’ll never use it I stopped.

To be clear I’m not mad or anything just a silly little question

The value is definitely in the toilet, which is what Ion feared when he went on his anti flying crusade.
I think it’s possible to still incorporate ground mounts into the world but they’ll have to remake them too.

Naa, I’ll chase down any mount that I feel “looks cool” to me. Or compliments one of my favored toons.

Haven’t given up. I still enjoy riding around the city with my ground mounts or if im not in rush just riding through zones.

I did give up farming across multiple characters a week though, but that was years ago.

Follow up question, and someone else made a thread about it.

Should they just let all mounts fly? Will seeing a flying turtle break your immersion or ruin your experience?

Theyre a plus one for the collection so ill still get them.

But will i ever use them?
You can fly at level 10 now. So why would anyone ever?

I don’t farm specific mounts because of their appearance. I just farm all mounts equally just to get them.

Yeah it’s a bummer they didn’t give rivendare’s flying, I mean the headless horseman can so the animation is there.

Flying mechostrider when lol

Yep, they should. Why some and not all. with that line there will always be folks who want a specific mount, that they love, to fly, that doesn’t. That’s just a weak reason to make some go without. Flying turtle in a fantasy game? I’d find a jet more immersion breaking than the turtle flying next to it.

I was most definitely thinking that. I pulled up the korkron wolf on the trading post thinking man that’d be cool to fly on. And why not - my priestess moon saber already does.

But I think it’d rather they experiment with ground mounts. Find a niche or way to make them useful in short distance areas. Add their own vigor system with their own abilities. Maybe something flying doesn’t have but ground can compliment. But that will include greater mobility (including jumping) but not flying.

Honestly I don’t see it breaking someone’s immersion if they do it properly.

We have mount equips (flat speed boost/water walking/etc), they could add in a new one for ground mounts to fly. There are already a few horses and stuff that can fly and they run/skip through the air. (Headless Horsemans Mount, Grove Warden/Defiler)

No.

Even if I can fly with my higher levels, if it’s a short distance, I still ground walk to the destination.

I use ground mounts all the time while questing and leveling. Flying just feels dumb especially skyriding when you just need to move a short distance. Also when there’s allot of stop and go you just burn all your vigor for no reason. I’m not sitting there for 5 secs switching between flight modes when I could just ground mount/travel form and be right back in action. Also this is an RPG and it’s supposed to be immersive. Questing is way better when staying engaged with the environment when possible.

Therefore, I’m always just as interested in new ground mounts.

I’ll hunt down any mount that comes my way. Doesn’t matter if it can fly or not. If I don’t have it I’ll get it. Still doing the tournament in Northrend to get the mounts from there though they are ground mounts.

I haven’t stopped completely, but only due to there not being very many mounts left to get.

No mounts should fly, period.

I used to collect mounts and use to have a ground mount on my taskbar. Had a few incidents where I clicked the wrong mount when moving off the edge of the cliff. Now I keep just a slow mount on my taskbar since they added the toggle (which I hate). I don’t mind having two mounts on my bar, I just don’t like having to toggle between the two.

They’re all just +1’s to me anyway, i use my Rooster in all ground mount situations.
