Have they announced new season date yet?

Figured they would have announced it by now what the heck blizzard.

Nope. People were expecting something today but we don’t even know when 10.2.6 launches, let alone when Season 4 (which comes later on in 10.2.6) begins. I’ll be honest: I think this Fated/Season 4 stuff’s a terrible idea after how badly raid participation tanked in SL S4, but I find it ten times more concerning that the literal only thing we know about 10.2.6 as a whole, not even counting the Fated stuff that’s only coming later, is that it exists.

And then y’all wonder why there’s a PTR for everything. This is why: because not hearing a single thing about a patch that Blizzard employees are hyping out the wazoo does not instill any amount of confidence in that patch.

I wanna punch something. give us that RELEASE DATE

Where is this supposed hype I keep reading about? Two statements from Holly simply explaining they’re being secretive about it does not constitute hype, personally.

Yeah I agree it’s dumb not sure why they just announce the date so guilds can add days to raid week if its coming soon for that final push or guilds can take a break and relax until the patch if its less than a month out.

Yeah, the complete lack of any communication besides SOD class tuning is pretty annoying. Blizz trying to be cute with the super secret 10.2.6 reveal is going to backfire on them. The lesson they’re going to learn is don’t do that.

Season 1 lasted 20 weeks.
Season 2 was even longer, so let’s assume S3 matches S1 – we’re just starting week 17 today.

I assume some streamer made baseless predictions at the new season in early/mid March based on the timeline saying “spring” and people are surprised there isn’t info yet despite it would be an extremely short season to drop it in the next few weeks?

My guess is they don’t know for sure.

They of course have internal target dates, but those are easier to change than a publicly released one.

I refuse to be excited until it is time to be excited. Until then today is just another day that ends in “Y.”

Conspiracy theory…. they know when the date is but it’s not until May or June. That’s why they’re being silent and pushing this secret patch stuff. They’re concerned people will pause their subs if the season is still 2 months away. And that’s valid because a lot of players hit their goals much earlier this time.

The start of the calendar seasons are always concrete dates, so early March wouldn’t even make sense. Given Spring doesn’t start until March 19th, I’d guess early April, mid-April at the latest.

they said 10.2.6 will be in march and s4 will follow shortly after, so no, its probably in april

Making sense has nothing to do with it

They never give dates far in advance so it’s not some weird conspiracy theory to me, it’s how they’ve handled new season announcements for many years.

Usually it’s 2 weeks or sometimes even less.

Considering the MDI and stuff is on now, definitely not a patch day today.
Next week at the earliest.

That huge post from Holly said shortly after 10.2.6 they’ll put S4 on the PTR for testing. They’ve been really vague about when it will start. If the fated raids have affixes like SL they’ll probably want to test the boss fights. If we don’t see 10.2.6 until the end of March I don’t think we’re seeing S4 until May at the earliest.

10.2.6 is very likely next Tuesday the 12th, because it’s slotted for end of Winter. The following Tuesday is the 19th, which is the start of Spring. The PTR could easily go up that week, give a couple weeks of testing, and Season 4 could start early April.

Since the roadmap hasn’t changed so far, those are probably the best estimates based on it.

Nope.

I hope you’re right, but that’s pretty optimistic. Season 4 is mostly recycled content, but 3-4 weeks of PTR testing for an entire season is pretty short. 10.2.5 was on the PTR for 2 months and it was a mid season patch.
