I don’t play Alliance so I was wondering if this was the Void Elves big moment, because I’m not sure what the point of them discovering the power of the Void was in the first place (unless it was just to have fancy hair)
It’s alway been about the hair and turning super saiyan blue.
Void Elves serve no purpose beyond pouring concrete over the grave of the High Elves and hopes they’d ever be playable.
The answer is no. Void elves are not involved, at all, in any Alliance old god/void related questing.
Not to the Old God side, but they did help a fair bit in our war campaign against the Horde.
But being in tune with Void doesn’t mean they have any involvement with the Old Gods. The void elf story was more about addressing the idea of what happens to Void users now that the Sunwell is half Light. They were also infused against their will, it wasn’t intended.
And it also can set things up for future stories too. Right now there was no big moment planned.
depends, at one point we were shown a possible Alt future where Anduin now elderly was the high king of Azeroth and leading all people of the cosmos against the Void (lords) so we may or may not see a major Void centric expansion sooner or later? It was clarified that the son of the wolf future is but “one” of many possible though and that it’s not set in stone.
Besides being present in the stormwind horrific visions, narp.
Kinda odd in hind sight.
That would’ve made more sense if Alleria had a contingent of High Elves with her in Argus she trained as Void Elves. But instead the Void Elves are actually turncoat Horde Blood Elves? So how did that even stop the High Elf thing? High Elves still haven’t gone to the Horde and all the major Void Elf characters still talk of being in the Horde so… ???
But we are playable…?
The only chance the Alliance has for getting in a group with a High Elf, is to ask for Blizzard to start dissolving the Factions and to be merged into the Horde. You’ll never have a real High Elf entering into Stormwind for RP and so on otherwise. Well… not without the NPC guards getting involved.
Good luck with that.
Void belves just need to be a High Elves placebo. The End.
Yeah Blizzard sees the Blood Elves as the real High Elves, and the in game High Elves as the “Traitors”. Maybe just because they have SIlvermoon City and are already playable. Blizzard probably never thought that people might have been interested in the Silver Covenant thats been opposed to them since BC.
Void Elves will never be essential.
I don’t think any void elf was infused against their will. They willingly played with void energy, even though it was forbidden to do so. Void and light do not mix at all, like bringing flame to a pit of gasoline, it’s going to explode. That is why the void elves were tossed out of the silvermoon and the blood elf group, also out of the horde.
Alleria was messing heavily with the void magic before her “transformation” and she is viewed as the leader of the void elves.
Imo, void elves are a lot like warlocks. They messed with a powerful forbidden branch of magic and now pay the price of doing so.
Dont you judge me!
The price being we’re amazing and get to hang out with alliance
Void Elves were introduced to the game just as one final slap and spit on the Helf community since the “if you want to play high elves, the horde is waiting for you” didn’t work.
They specifically made Void Elves not “blonde fair skinned elf” to make a point. It’s not happening.
Void Elves basically had no role this entire expansion. No character development or anything.
They were though. They believed in the Void as a source of power that could be used for good, but they didn’t choose to be infused with it like they are now. On Telogrus they were captured by evil ethereals who forcefully tried to convert them into void creatures. They were saved in time before becoming monsters, but now they’re blue and trying to adapt to it.
more than just odd.
Not even in on the meeting at the castle.
It opens up to lets yell at shaw. the non void touched human. Now if I was Shaw I’d be going dude king…how about you bring in alleria and her mentor. I am sure they would feel a great disturbance in the force…err void to help us out. and well, you know, alleria did get some uber void upgrade in legion. Lets use that…
As I see it it was a planned oversight to bring in the black dragon. Pad his screen time. Otherwise it be like hey my dude…we need a cloak. That’s it. So…yeah, you get us that and then we go back to Alleria for lead on this.
Since, and no offence, your dragon flight just really sucks at resisting the void. Now the void elves…well they haven’t flaked out on us yet.
