You lock up our leader and we’re supposed to be okay with it?
Never understood how the Tauren have remained with the Horde since Garrosh took over. Aside from the murder of Cairne, the rise of the Dark Shaman and Sha energies was the direct antithesis of what the Earth Mother promoted.
Legion made sense since all races and classes banded together against Sargeras, but especially when BFA started, seeing stuff like the Highmountain going along with blight bombing during assaults makes absolutely zero sense. I’ve said before, Dark Iron should have been a Horde Allied race, and Highmountain should have gone Alliance.
Just because there is no real leader on the alliance. At least the horde has some options that will take over when Sylv becomes the next Lich King (wrath 2.0 is coming, not garrosh 2.0).
Hopefully we get to kill him and you can get a real leader and not an Alliance bootlicker who only ever acts when Jaina is involved.
My respect for Baine increased tremendously in that cutscene.
In my honest opinion his words were more impactful compared to everyone’s favourite “Is he the bomb now”.
Baine is more of a badass character than Fart Mode and Enough Boi.
I imagine the Tauren will continue simply because they fear what might become of Baine if they revolt.
Personally, I would prefer they take the “Blood and Thunder” route.
I agree his words were wise, but I am losing respect for both him and Saurfang. They are so appalled by Sylvanas, yet they do nothing to challenge her. Where was the mok’gorah challenge when he was confronted by Sylvanas? That’s what Cairne did when Garrosh went too far.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Sylvanas is in power because she’s the only Horde leader with teeth. Two mighty combatants like Saurfang and Baine are full of talk and no fight. It makes me sick that the Horde has come to where it is, but they have all become soft.
Sylvanas is not an orc and thus not bound by Mok’gorah. Baine would have had an arrow in the heart before the word finished leaving his mouth. Reminder that Sylvanas doesn’t have or have a use for honor.
You can come hang out with us. We’ll trade hoof and horn care tips. Chat about paladin stuff with your Sunwalkers, and you and the night elves can druid it up together.
It’ll be fun.
Friends?
I like where the story is going. Even though it is similar to Garrosh’s, a Horde civil war would be fun.
I personally am not looking forward to seeing mulgore blighted.
It’s has been adapted into a Horde tradition under the rule of Thrall (though they must be nonlethal). It can still be evoked. That’s why Cairne was able to despite being a Tauren. She is bound to fight if challenged. Refusal would make her look weak.
I’m looking forward to Baine finally receiving what he deserves and becoming the next Warchief.
I have felt the same way for a long time.
If he doesn’t cave her head in, he doesn’t deserve the title.
What the warchief giveth, the warchief taketh… she is under no obligation. Nor is Nathanos under any obligation not to have a slip of the finger on his bowstring. “Oops, I must have let the bowstring slip. Pity we’ll never know the victor” (with much spite and bile).
People keep saying this as if it’s some ultimate plot device.
Sylvanas wouldn’t even accept it. She doesn’t have to. Besides, I don’t want to see another Horde faction leader die in duel again.
Sometimes I wish that we had a faction/alignment betrayal quest line similar to what EQ2 has where your character could make a choice to leave their faction and join the other.
Again, it was established by Thrall as a Horde custom when he became Warchief with the stipulation that fights could no longer be to the death. It is not just an orc custom anymore.
That would suck. Hopefully the fight will conclude before they make it there.
