Have the devs given up on STV?

I’m just curious because it was being iterated on regularly at first and now they’ve gone radio silent on it outside of a weird change to the Loa’s self-healing. Are they actually ok with what it has devolved in to?

It’s pretty wild because all of the current issues are direct results of the design of the event. The altars combined with the Loa bonus blood buff has funneled every one in the zone to one spot. Of course it’s just going to end up being mages AoE spamming. I’m sure that contributes to the lag greatly.

I can’t help but feel like this event is just another case of Blizzard overdesigning something that should’ve been simple. Remove the boss. Remove the altars. Increase the blood gain. Kills = coins. It’s not that complicated.

sorry phase 2 failed for me. When the best part of phase 2 was the sleeping bag quest line for me, something is wrong.

Was always a cash grab run by a skeleton crew.

I also agree 100% that all their pvp stuff is overdesigned. Just make an event where people can kill each other and get rewards for kills… like yeesh :expressionless:

It’s worse than that brother , a Skelton crew would have made hardly no changes. They’ve managed to give us basically nothing and take a huge stinker right in the middle of a classic cheesecake.

yeah, if only we had a skeleton crew that could barely make any changes… if only :expressionless:

It’s so weird. They got plenty of feedback from Ashenvale and they advertised STV as just a straight up PVP event and still had to add their little twist to it despite the players being pretty vocal about how excited they were when we thought it was just FFA PVP.

we do nothing but complain. it’s never good enough.

who wouldn’t give up knowing his next idea will be poorly received?

How the hell are we supposed to give feedback when people like you just dismiss it as complaining?

If complaints detere you why would you ever make something? Even more so with this alt dev poster coper, we give this company millons a year. Why are you EVER siding with them? They fully have the resources to staff GMs, these forums with mods and the dev teams. Instead they cycle off profits and let their blizz drones do the work here for them.

there has been no request for feedback. you are not “supposed to” give feedback. you have no credentials in designing pvp systems and no position of authority on the topic. Why do you think anyone expects you to give feedback?

i am puzzled by your statement.

besides, look around you. the negativity is everywhere. When’s the last time you read a positive topic about pvp? Can you link it for us if you find it?

edit: all we need is FFA PVP with shrinking outer ring of clouds. we know how FFA / KotH pvp works. it’s not in need of a redevelopment.

They have quite literally, on multiple occasions, said they actively seek and read feedback. Both Nora and Aggrend have said this. One of Nora’s most recent tweets is about reading these forums looking at feedback EVERY MORNING.

That said, I agree with your edit. It’s not in need of a redevelopment, just some changes to prevent it from being “AoE the altar for 30 minutes”

STV is a cluster cluck. The very idea of fighting your own faction … But at least it got me to AB exalted in about 12 games. And all the gear, BIS ring and a nice cape. Suppose I could go for a mount. I still think the STV event will go down as the worst PVP event in MMO history.

STV is not a good pvp map.

Draw a picture of STV without the mountains and all the inaccessible cliffs and you’ll see it’s actually awful.

Arathi (stormgarde door closed) with outer edge shrinking gas cloud and glide-down would’ve been much better.

even Westfall would’ve been a good pvp map.

Instead of funneling people around the boss for the extra blood, it should be zone wide. That way there will be less lag. Also stop it from being a group on top of group on top of group on top of group fest where you literally Rez to get 1 or two kills only to die again and rinse and repeat. Or make it to where it’s faction vs faction.

This isn’t a hobbyist project. Giving up = no more healthcare

Big agree.

STV is great now. Best PvP event Blizzard ever implemented.
