Ya know I got tons of flaming in these forums for making things into conversation and raising the question whether we were honeypotted with specific wording at Blizzcon, or if you all were accepting and encouraging the way sod was going and why….
True that nothing could’ve been done anyways, sod was going to stay the way it was and we weren’t going to get the hinted “+” in the way we were lead to believe. But apparently gamers who are so enthralled by their nostalgia based thoughts of “we don’t know what they will do! So eat the poo sandwich, shut up and enjoy it until then” keep everyone from actually getting good things in this world.
I hope this experience with SOD proved to those of you who clapped back at everything I said, that modern blizzard is not the blizzard you remember. I’ve finally accepted this during phase 3, well after, and it’s a great deal of stress lifted from my shoulders.
Oh and maybe these “content creators” talking about SOD like it’s the hottest thing since sliced bread, and completely silencing everyone else who isn’t putting on their “We Happy Few” smile…… didn’t help anything either.
But what do I know? I’m not an OG vanilla player or a high parser, so yeah you should completely ignore everything I’ve ever said🧐
Time and again everyone injects their ‘vision’ of what SoD is, was or will be.
I think they did a good job in executing what they said they were going to do albeit not without a myriad of issues and controversy throughout (as expected).
I did not expect this to be Classic+. I do hope they use things they learned from this to do Classic+, but my faith in Blizzard as a company is in the crapper.
Even through SoD it was a lot of 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
Maybe one day they’ll pull away from the horrid practices Kotick plagued the company with and return to genuine enjoying game development and less on profit/revenue margins.
SoD was never advertised as classic+ so your premise is off base.
blizzard said they were going to experiment and that there would be power creep. they delivered with these. whether we like it or not in the end.
Sir, no one knows who you are. When we leave this thread, we’re not going to remember who you are again.
As with Diablo products, I have changed my approach to WoW products.
Before, my approach was “Play and hope it gets better”, and now my approach is “Don’t play until it is better”
There’s no reason to stay subbed to a deeply flawed product just hoping it’s going to git gud someday.
P5 still looks like it’s not that great, plus at this moment there’s no real way for me to catch up anyway so even if it gets good in phase 6, I’m pretty much out of the game either way.
Currently I’m working on a single player mod for Diablo 2 just for myself, because that’s actually a great game. Also catching up on tons of movies I missed, and some great single player games I missed.
I’ll browse these forums at work just to keep an ear close to the rail and see if Blizzard has finally decided to be good at their job, but I truly doubt it will ever happen. If anything, I’m waiting for Turtle WoW to update their client.
