Have replayed worgen intro questline

Man, how is Gilneas STILL not a proper main city. It’s so big, detailed and just cool looking. Even though infested by… alliance.

Actually, it wasn’t. After sylvannas sent in her forsaken, at some point during legion they were gone? Then during rogue quesltine, Gilneas was infested with a bunch of corrupted humans planning evil stuff, so as an assassin creeds type mc you jump roofs to kill the guy in the castle to stop it. Then in SL, at the end of prologue quests, we give Greymane a a letter from that lightforged forsaken chick that all forsaken will be removed from Gilneas - meaning it was still infested with some forsaken. Up untill now alliance have not been in it, but it will become an alliance city again soon

Supposedly it will eventually become a city again and it will all happen in game not in a book which is exciting.

Because it was suppose to be an instanced Battleground and not an actual city.

lmao imagine a Gilneas warfront thought, would had been so bad.

It wouldn’t have been a warfront style thing. It would probably be closer to something like Tol Barad.

The original design of the battleground was intended to be set in Gilneas City and revolve around attempting to conquer the highest number of districts, but after internal playtesting it was deemed “unsalvageable” and was completely reworked in a fashion similar to Arathi Basin

Yeah its pretty much my favorite aesthetic in the game.

Which is weird, cause canonically, the Alliance took it back in a book.

Which the writers apparently forgot about.

But the writers forget everything the Alliance ever do. So…

We know the other 3 warfronts that were scrapped :stuck_out_tongue:

The Gates of Mulgore, Battle for Silvermoon, and Battle of Azshara.

Most likely they were the Warfronts that the Horde were canonically going to win (cause let’s face it - the horde weren’t going to lose Thunder Bluff, Silvermoon, or Bilgewater Harbor), since the Alliance canonically won the 2 we did get.

The Azshara Warfront was likely where the devs saying “By the end of Battle For Azeroth, the Bilgewater Cannon will be fired” came from.

Hey, we did the best we could with what we had. Give us a break.

They probably retconned it just like they retcon many things every new expansion. And makes sense why they said that, was looking forward to the cannon being fired, but with how bad bfa went, it felt more like rushed content to the point of reusing old zones corrupted by nzoth instead of new zone, to rush out shadowlands.

Yeah but its like walking around toon town in disneyland. Most of the buildings you can’t go into

well, if it was reworked into the city - we’d have some shops and buildings open for sure, and filled with npcs.

that quest name is Assassinate Creed, just so everyone knows. You probably know, but I want everyone else to know, too.

I couldn’t kill him on my own, or communicate with the goblin rogue who was there at the same time, but we worked out a strategy with Vanish to tank him until we were nearly dead, then swapping aggro til we healed

It was a glorious moment…sometime in Mists, I think.

edit: not that anyone asked. >_>

Gilneas is one of my favorite starting zones, along with the DKs. I have always hoped/wished they’d clean up Gilneas and make it a functional city again. Honestly I thought maybe after Darnassus got burned down we’d get a new tree near Gilneas and have them be one large city together.
I get kind of tired of seeing big, neat looking cities sitting there as ruins…and would love for them to re-do them again and make them bigger and better but in the same style. Wish they’d redo Silvermoon, Exodar and Undercity as well, but seems unlikely.
All I could think was how cool Revendreth must have been before a lot of it became ruins. I personally enjoyed questing in Suramar, loved how huge it was and that almost all of it had something going on, not just ruins, of course I was also using my DH as my horde main at the time, so doing parkour everywhere was also fun. Just my thoughts, and I speak for no one but myself.

I think having it on the same scale as Boralus but make it a neutral city would be very cool indeed. Some “badies” in some areas, maybe faction related areas but still neutral.

Too close to the Undercity so undead will lay siege. Honestly though I feel worse for the Goblins. They are still shacked up in the Org slums.

Those weirdos are free to leave at any time.

I don’t want to imagine the amount of Dawn it’s going to take to clean that section of Org up.

Yes! Gilneas! … Suramar needs to be a hub, as well. Jussayin.
