I honestly can’t remember but has there ever been a WoW expansion where the community 100% predicted what it was going to be and actually found leaks that all turned out to be true?
I see so many people jumping on the bandwagon that it’s going to be dragon isles after shadowlands and with all the data mining stuff people are finding do you guys think we got it right this time? Or will the next expansion be something completely different
Shadowlands had a leak, and that turned out to be true. Even the first image of a ‘‘ghostly’’ city in the desert with the Oribos portals was used in the game and presentations.

Wrath of the Lich King was leaked.
You can find threads pre-release that detail many of the main features, including Northrend, Arthas, and Death Knights.
Shadowlands didn’t have everything leaked before Blizzcon, but we still had zone art, zone names, the expansion name/setting, and Bolvar’s cinematic model.

Most are fake fan fiction. I am still waiting to see if the Activision-Insight leak is true. lol
I think I remember Void Elves were leaked like a day or two before they were announced and confirmed.
Six races were. They were accidentally added to the game’s code early (the names, at least) and flagged as playable.
Void elves, Nightborne, Highmountain, Lightforged, Dark Iron, Zandalari.
It’s extremely rare. I think once or twice I’ve heard an expansion was gotten, but 99% of them are fake.
It’s not hard to guess a potential expansion setting. Like in BfA’s season there was a Shadowlands leak. We got the title and location right, but it talked about a ridiculous raid attack on Stormwind where everyone dies and ghost ships sail into the harbor to take us into the SL.
So while we can for sure see the Dragon isles as a possibility, it’s still no proof at all that the leaks we got are in any way real. People will make really elaborate things online. I’ve seen leaks over the years with entire WoW-style maps created and convincing lists of features, all of which were absolute nonsense. Even if signs are pointing to the Dragon Isles still it’s wise to not believe anything the internet says.
Blizz is iron tight with info.
Many of them are usually just slapping together common player requests as feature notes. A sign of fakery. It’s just as possible the next one will be something so completely unheard of not one person will be able to guess it.
And even if it’s true, it doesn’t mean anything. What would “Dragon Isles” mean, anyway? Nothing of importance to the player base, honestly.
Not that the players don’t care about the story, they do, but not as much as the mechanics of the game.
“Dragon Isles. Great. Dragons. Islands. Whee. When do we get flying?”

WoD was pretty much totally leaked down to story beats. The only things ‘wrong’ was stuff they ended up cutting.
There have been leaks that have been real, but those usually have involved hard evidence such as art and datamined assets.
The only thing we have at this point that could potentially be a legit leak are some sparkles and a name of a mount, but IIRC the mount still has a patch 9 tag to it.
the fate of eternity leak had a lot of accuracy even the name its self was just about the same thing

World of Warcraft: Invasion of Tamriel!
That’s nice, when is flying? Is there borrowed power? New class? Squish back to 50 again or leveling to 70? Outside of that I expect a template expansion.
