For all of you that love to mount farm in old dungeons and raids would you like to see WoW add the system they have for raid mounts in final fantasy?
In final fantasy when you kill a boss that drops a mount you get 1 token per kill and at 99 tokens you can go to a vendor and buy the mount if you had really bad luck and it never dropped for you out of those 99 attempts.
Do you think this would make mounts not as rare or do you think people would enjoy this system because even when it doesn’t drop for you at least you know that you are working towards it from the vendor and that gives people a goal.

As a mount farmer…
I really dunno. Part of me wants to say yes because over 100 runs in an instance kills you.
The other part of me sees the point where you will reach the point where you don’t have any others to get. I am at the point I just have MoP and later raid drops and thats it.

I killed Arthas over 500 times across my alts before I got Invincible. Yes, I would love FFXIV’s token system.

Yeah a system like that would really make sense. Even if it took 100 kills for a mount each time you get a kill you’ll feel one step closer to earning the mount unlike the current system where you could kill a boss 10000 times and still never see it drop.
Feels bad man

Sounds reasonable to me. That’s 99 weeks before someone can buy it.

True. If someone has gone almost two years of farming something weekly just… just give it to them already lol

Absolutely. I actually remember mentioning to my wife years ago that I wish they had a system exactly like this… surprised me when you said final fantasy is using a system like that.
If someone runs an instance 100 times they deserve the mount… and that’s coming from someone who has a fair amount of the raid/dungeon mounts from farming over the years.
I would be 100% okay with them putting it in now, even after I farmed most of them the old way. It would be a very good change.

99 attempts sounds fair, tbh. I think I must be over 50 for judgement shoulders, or maybe it just feels that way because I’ve been literally at them for years but only off and on.

Except the difference with the two games is you can farm the raid a lot more than the once per week or day limit WoW has
Then advocate for more content to be added to the game, not restricting content even further to artificially extend its lifetime.
I prefer that rare mounts stay rare honestly.

I was killing Skreeg the Devourer the other day on one of my frequent sweeps through Argus. Another player (what a rare thing to see another player) said they had 2300 kills and no mount. I was like o_0 don’t tell this player I’ve destroyed more of these than I can count.
The next day I was in there on 2 characters on different accounts. I killed Skreeg again. Both got the mount.
Being rewarded for work is good. Knowing you are getting closer to that reward is better.

There’s no need to add anything convoluted. It’s just bloat. It drops or it doesn’t.
Six months on 4 alts to get mine. Three kills on Kael’thas.
I would mind a progressive way.
This sounds like Bad Luck Protection in the form of currency which has been asked for in the past. I have no problem with it as a mount collector.

I am uncertain of what number would be fair, but I like the idea of tokens being used to purchase mounts.
Wow raids have weekly lockouts except for … AQ20 I think has a 3 day lockout? It’d be an amazing QoL change just to have daily lockouts on anything with legacy loot mode enabled.
