Fortified + Bolster = Pain train city for the tank. Yikes. Most lfg dps have no clue how to keep mobs even hp on bolster week and actually target swap.
Skittish on top of that having to deal with melee mongoloids spamming their focusing iris first gcd on pulls and having to play whack-a-mole simulator with taunting stuff.
I think it may be a one and done this week for my alt I have been tanking on.
Nope shrine is still terrible thanks to the masses of non-elite mobs conveniently put within aggro range of elites, with galecaller miniboss the best example.
I’ll take bolster any day over skittish when tanking. Even with hunter + rogue in group it’s a constant stressfest of watching which moron will rip aggro on skittish and die first even with tricks + MD used on cooldowns.
Got myself a hunter, rogue and resto druid all above 1k season 3, each of them with multiple +13 completions
marked skull on elites to kill (eg. birds in raptor packs), no one paid attention
marked skull on dangerous adds to interrupt (eg. augur with fiery enchant spin), tons of spells went off when mine was on cooldown resulting in many deaths
pretty sure the rogue used KS,CS,gouge, blind, etc. zero times to interrupt non-interruptable casts
same with druid never using typhoon
same with mage and polymorph who was our third DPS spot
not even sure if tricks or MD was used once because I was losing threat constantly mashing my buttons for optimum DPS while switching tab targets
And my reward was AP while they got titanforged rings.
This is the garbage infesting M+ ques, just makes me want to smash my keyboard.
sounds to me like it’s time for you to take steps to stop puging friend, start paying attention to who performs well in your runs, add them to bnet(seriously I end up adding 3 or 4 a week that I run into doing M+ competent players are generally thrilled to add competent tanks to their pool of people to run with) start consistently running with them I promise you the grass is MUCH greener on the other side, virtually every issue I’ve seen you post about would be little more then a memory if you just stopped throwing yourself on the mercy’s of lady luck with these pugs.
If i had the luxury of big blocks of time and arranging my day to the schedule of others I would still be doing organized raiding, it does not help that raiding design is more boring than ever.
it’s pug M+ for me or it’s nothing
Seeing the performance of pug resto druids in season 3 I think I’m going to start subtracting 500 or more from their score as well. Too many of them are letting people die from primarily unavoidable damage while they dance around above 50% mana in cat form trying to imitate their MDI idols.
I’m also seeing numerous mostly pug tanks trying to sneak in as DPS applicants, because they don’t want to tank skittish obviously. So remember to be vigilant and check role specific scores, just like you should check for people with primarily healing scores applying as DPS in grievous weeks.
It’s not that it’s harder to tank, it’s that the usual pulls that many tanks do on non-bolstering week just don’t work on bolstering week, and very few adjust.
Oh man, so much this. Its hilarious how accurate that bit about resto druids trying to play like MDI players is.
I tanked a 12 KR that had a resto druid healer yesterday and when we got to the Zul add before last boss I was noticing that (though I understand it does very high damage on fort weeks) i was hardly being healed. Eventually when it was about 30% hp i died after running out of cds to cycle through. Again, wasnt really getting healed though.
Perplexed just after dying, I thought to myself “crap, did i pull too fast without giving the healer time to drink?” - so i target the druid and see hes sitting at 86% mana as he shifts out of cat form in order to battle rez me.
So yeah, as opposed to hotting me up fully, keeping efflo down and spamming regrowths on me, this #%$ was in cat form dps’ing on one of the toughest pulls of any dungeon in regards to tank damage.
Masses of healers from non-druid specs saw MDI and rerolled resto druid, and spend half their time in cat form while their party drops dead from mostly unavoidable damage.
Here’s an idea, put in a 1.5k M+ score requirement before you have feral affinity available as a resto druid.
If there is consistent damage going out and most of it is unavoidable then I better see you spending 90-95%+ of your globals on healing me (the tank) and the party.
Admittedly I’ll sometimes forget it’s bolstering week and pull the next group before the last one dies, resulting in a freshly bolstered pack. 1-2 pulls into the dungeon and I’m fully adjusted.
Fort + Bolstering is just one of those combinations where if DPS screws up, other players pay the price. Which is typically the case anyway tbh.
I think I’m going to start screening all these 1k io resto druid apps to my groups that seem like they’re a dime a dozen nowadays… and start instantly declining any that don’t have a high score from last season (since then it can be assumed they’re probably a new fotm reroller that saw MDI).
Guys, this is your reward for inviting these scrubs braindead resto druid over more experienced healers with their respective class. Enjoy it while I laugh.
