This is embarrassing but I just did a Motherload m+ and I think this happened twice. And then a few other times the other DPS body pulled by accident but it got blamed on me lol. But whatever, this isn’t about that.
First time. I wasn’t even targeting the mob, but my stored up icicle charges fired away at them anyway. Like… ??? No I didn’t right click them to target, when it should’ve been a left click to target. I never accidentally wanded them. The icicles just fired at them on their own, I don’t know how else to explain it.
Second time. My Mirror Images pulled. I saw them- Like how all 3 of them cast their spell at the same time. Again, I wasn’t even targeting the enemy, but the mirror images decided to throw some spells. And the tank was like ??? mage? And I’d be mad too if I was playing tank, because I play tank often. We almost wiped that pull because of the stupid mage (me).
On any other caster (right?), you have to actually be targeting the mob to accidentally fire an auto-attack or to wand at them. I’ve never played a class that can just randomly throw stuff without even meaning to.
Is wanding even a thing anymore? I thought that went out the window ages ago.
And my tier set bonus that procs Essence Bursts… hits whatever the heck it feels like. Including Nemesis packs of Explosive Allies that I didn’t pull on purpose so I could clear the area first to have enough room to move around.
Okay I thought you were wrong about this so I just went to the target dummies and I was thinking like “so I’m gonna stand at range and right click it and my character will do a wand attack”
Nope, she didnt, lol. But I’m not wearing a wand, I have a dagger / offhand on.
So I went to the AH to buy a wand. Back to the target dummies.
Yes, she is wanding the target dummy now. So wand auto attacks are still a thing.
But in my case, I wasn’t wearing a wand, so it doesn’t apply to what happened in the dungeon. I couldn’t have wanded because I wasn’t using a wand.
This happens to me on Piddy here, but thats most likely because I have that setting that lets me target what I’m looking at, without having to click on it.
So, I could be spamming something, and the mobs dies, and I then automatically target something behind the mob.
This is a graphical thing. I picked up my frost mage about three weeks ago and have since done all 10s and 11s on her. The icicle charges will look like they’re firing, but upon impact, they do no dmg and they do not pull. Likely, someone else body pulled right when your icicle flew.
