Holy balls why does Black Arrow and Explosive trap do like 0 damage now? Black arrow ticks do the same amount of damage as 1/8th of my autoshot, with explosive trap being near that too.

That was a meme throughout that lousy expansion because Cata hunters are garbage.
Written by someone who obviously never played survival hunter during Cata, Hunter in Cata, survival at least were very strong both in PVE and PVP.
Nearly all class right now in Cata Beta are broken and do no damage, Shadow Priest, Balance Druid have this issue right now too

I have but not to that point, I’m honestly waiting til we can copy our characters over cause right now the point of the beta is testing the new quests and re-vamped zones but I can’t be bothered to level.

Hilarious. Do you know where the meme “Fox will fix it” came from? From hunters lighting up the forums with how BAD they were when the cata prepatch rolled out. People like YOU kept repeating that BS blah blah. No. Fox didn’t “fix it.” Hunters were bottom of the barrel in PVP during the ENTIRE expansion. And since you obviously weren’t there, don’t take my word for it, use your google fingers.
literally everything google throws out says that survival hunter is an “S-Tier DPS and must bring for every raid.”
maybe you should just stop with your hate and do some research yourself.
also, as someone who played Hunter from TBC through Legion, Cata was an amazing expansion for hunters, and all the whining was just from people not being used to having Focus instead of Mana

Focus is garbage. There’s no sustained burst, especially with AOE. Tell us again how great it is to have to switch back and forth from AOE to single target. It’s a clunky, ridiculous resource. When’s the last time you ran out of mana during a boss fight? Yeah… I can’t remember either.
Hunters are amazing at 85.

Hunters remained at the bottom in PvP throughout the entire expansion. Not mediocre, not near the bottom - dead last. That is not amazing.
Quick Google search shows Hunters s-tier dps in Cata.
Can’t really say much from the Beta. Most things are broken.

MM is S tier in pvp in Cata. Your memory is off, and you obviously have no knowlege of the current 4.3.4 pvp meta. Thug is absolutely bonkers in cata and WILL be at the top of the ladder throughout the expansion. PHD and Jungle are both far stronger than they are in wotlk.

Yeah I never use those things, they seem next to useless. The frozen trap is good to hold off one mob while dealing with another but I don’t bother with the others.

Ive been playing cata every day since 2013. You can take my word for it, or find out yourself in 2 months. The meta has evolved a lot since 2010-2012.
They get really nutty once you get the 2piece T13 set, which gives double focus on steady/cobra shot. I remember being a freakin monster after getting that. Cant wait for cataclysm classic!

Who care about PVP? I’m talking about PVE in general, but even in PVP they were not bottom.
Wait what? Survival hunter during Cata have one of the best AOE burst out there just spam Multishot which spread Serpent Sting on all enemies and deal a certain percentage of all of Serpent Sting dot in damage instantly to all enemies every multishot, add on top of this Explosive trap and its some insane AOE damage, why are you making random things up?

They are actually really good in pvp in Cataclysm, at least Marksman is.
