Creating a new character and taking the slow path to get there. Working in Durotar and have the quest for Cap’n Garvey’s head. Anything I can do to get past this douche bag? I feel that they are using a bot.

Join a group with someone else on a different realm - Party Sync

I got the douche by spamming my one hit strike. I am still reporting them. I hate people acting like this. The game is supposed to be fun.
My approach would’ve been to just leave the area and come back later. Assuming that player was doing it just to grief, seeing you there was probably all the motivation they needed to keep doing it. If there were no other players around for long enough they’d eventually move on.
