Haunt Clarification

Evening locks,

Just a question of clarification for affliction.

Per Haunt’s tooltip, “… Haunt increases damage dealt to the target by 12% for 18 seconds.”

So… to ‘properly capture’ this 12% damage boost… should Haunt be cast before DoTs, or should Haunt be cast AFTER all DoTs have been applied to the target?

Regarding UA, should Haunt be cast after stacking UA?

Or is Haunt much simpler in that cast order doesn’t matter?

Everything dynamically updates now days from DoTs to Demons. Generally though Haunt is the opening spell.

You’re overthinking it, you actually have Haunt up all the time. Think of it less as a DoT/Modifier and more as a “high priority CD” to press as soon as it is available.

But you do cast it as soon as possible, typically the opener (it also has a projectile travel time, one of the few Affliction spells that does, basically making it a free GCD if cast before pull)
