If someone could tell me if I’m understanding this interaction correctly, I’d appreciate it.
Haunted Soul increases the damage of all DoT effects by 20% while Haunt is active.
Death Bolt calculates its damage as 50% of all the caster’s DoT damage yet to be dealt to the target, presumably 20% stronger due to Haunted Soul.
Death Bolt then deals this damage as its own separate DoT. So then, wouldn’t Haunted Soul also affect Death Bolt?
As a somewhat related question, would that mean Summon Darkglare’s DoT extension works on Death Bolt, extending it into an 11 second DoT?
I’m new to warlock, so if any of these interactions are obvious, I wouldn’t know. I haven’t had the time to test anything.
Right now, Deathbolt is beyond borked in DF alpha as far as the logs i looked and talked with people who have acess to it.
My Warlock in SL can pull bigger Deathbolts than characters in DF, all while every Dot from said characters are ticking 60-70% stronger than mines.
The answer to this will depend on how they code this kind of effect, there are effects who are coded as simple aura modifiers who apply on everything; others are whitelist who only apply to specific spells who are whitelisted.
Exemple, Wrath of Consumption is a Whitelist.
Last time i saw someone testing this on alpha, it didn’t.
But also to note, Dots can only be extended up to their Pandemic Limit (+30% of their maximum duration), so even if it eventually starts to extend [and i have my doubts] it would only put Deathbolt 3s dot to 4s.

How can you compare deathbolt in sl and df? Deathbolt is a pvp talent right now.
Because the Dragonflight version
https://www.wowhead.com/beta/spell=264106/deathbolt and the pvp talent https://www.wowhead.com/spell=264106/deathbolt are the same effect.
Both are 3 Soulshards, 1s cast, who accumulate 50% of the remaining damage from your spells on the target and dealing it over 3 sec.
As to how you cast Deathbolt in PvE on live, you just need to turnon Warmode.
And just to build on Makalath’s response - part of why Deathbolt is so weird right now is that it was moved to being a PVP talent, then reworked to have a cast time/higher shard cost/short dot duration(was previously instant cast and damage) for PVP reasons I assume, and has now been returned to a PVE talent but in its PVP form.
It’s really just a odd fit and hopefully just a placeholder for something else at this point
