Hats off to all Tanks

my tanks be getting screeched at times lol
im like damn man you dps are really mad on heroics lol. i just kick em tbh. healers and tanks be going through it. i have heal aniexty and get upset when someone dies every single time even if it isn’t my fault lol. just sucks, can’t imagine the stress of tanking here.

Clearly someone who’s never tanked with any regularity.

I finally hit 583 on my tank… happily tanked dozens of leveling/Heroics…

… still have yet to work up the nerve to try Mythic.

This is where it’s the most fun. It’s still fun in mythic but I’d say that is when diminishing returns on fun start to hit.

That can be said for every role and not just tanks however.

You are welcome citizen! I just had a group of 3 randos yesterday running the 4 Heroics for the weekly stay with me and a friend for all of them. My Paladin was 603 and just clobbering bosses and trash mobs and the healer more than once used some Gen Z terms that apparently translated to me being a rad dude with mad skills

i could see myself tank in the late stages of a season but new seasons keep coming and i dont like that part

dps sure is more relaxed.

Tank mains rise up

Tanking would be a lot more fun if blizzard didn’t continue to make life as a tank awful over the last few years

I wish Blizz would give tanks spammable AoE. Why does ff14 have better tank design than WoW

I couldn’t be a tank. Its just not for me unless im solo questing!! Its easier to be a tank while leveling out in the world… for me anyways!

Huge shout out for tanks though. I leveled another character recently and decided to do a classic dungeon que. I forget what dungeon it was but, i fell over the side of a ledge and was immediately attacked by an elite tree lol! The tank came to my rescue. All the junk we were so carefully avoiding he had to kill to rescue me!! That was very much appreciated!!

Are people seriously crying about the responsibilities of a tank? Are people so terrible at this game that they can’t handle the easiest role to carry? You can get by with a crappy tank if there’s a good healer and/or good dps.

Tanking literally isn’t hard…

Expected to know the dungeon?
Cry more. Literally each role has to know the dungeon if you want to get real keys done.

Have to move at a certain pace?
You’re pathetic, everyone has to move at that pace…

Just be honest admit you suck and that’s it not the role just a user based performance issue.

Jeez people it’s not that dang hard. Get over it and get better.

Yeah, the tanks who know what they are doing are super stars. Extra kudos to tanks who actually know what to pull to not be under or super over kill count in M+.

I was nervous about tanking, though I had fun the few times I got to do it in Vanilla, SL, and DF. I was asked to tank for some friends and I was like surrre! But I let them know I didn’t know most of the ways to go, because I’m usually a healer - and standing in the back. Some stuff looks familiar but not all the time. xD

There was this one healer we got, while I was tanking. I noticed she was ‘grayed out’ in the player-list so I knew she was out of range, but wasn’t sure about the situation. (I thought she was behind us, somewhere.) - This healer had actually run ahead and was pulling more stuff to us. I was a bit surprised, because I didn’t have any cool-downs at the precise moment to grab threat off the priest. It was interesting. This priest did not survive that particular pull.

Wait until you try out healing. I find Tank downright comfortable compared to the anxiety that Healing gives me.

Healing used to be more fun before DF. >,<"

So I’ve heard, but I was on healing duty in DF Season 1 and it burnt me out really fast, had to take a major break from the game before even getting AotC. It’s just not for me, I suppose.

I vastly prefer tanking, I feel way more comfortable when I am in control of a situation which is basically what tanking decision making is, healing feels way too reactive and chaotic for my excessive anxiety-having brain.
