The event went live this week, and the most sought-after DIGITAL item, the Hateforged Blazecycle is somehow SOLD OUT?!
You’re kidding me… right?
Please put that item back up for redemption. It cannot be “Sold out.” It’s a digital item.
People paid real money in order to obtain this mount. There should have been a massive blue post stating, “do NOT buy any items after the first day because the item you want is unobtainable.”
Please see Sendryn’s post above with the Terms quote I put together. It has all the info currently available. There may be more codes released, but that is between the promo company and Blizz. Not sure when we will find out more - as it says in the terms.
It’s entirely possible that they could. I just think it’s unlikely. They didn’t refill the Mountain Zhu codes for FF XIV and that game is of equal or greater popularity.
I understand the terms… it just sucks that an even that began so soon and ends at the end of December is already “sold out” of the item that people wanted.
It does say rewards may be restocked so if Blizz issues another batch of codes to the promo company there may be more to claim. I also realize that some are being sold and others are being used in the EU where the promo is not offered. So I don’t know if they may want to do something about that first?
Just guessing. I have no contact with folks that does marketing and promotions type events I don’t think.
Fingers crossed. Not my thing and I won’t waste money on soda or chips, but I do like to see others enjoy things like the mount.
It is a “both” issue. This is how the promo was structured. To be limited. What we (players) don’t know is if the chosen limit is set in stone or if Blizzard and Pepsi intend to provide more codes for digital rewards.
Had Pepsi purchased a larger stockpile, they might have lost money on the promotion. Their team likely assessed a good “starting” number of codes and restock if/when needed. With it being the weekend, the individuals handling the promotion will likely reach out and contact Blizz to discuss terms on Monday. That said, while other items in the promo said “While supplies last”, the bike did not have this disclaimer which leads me to believe they simply need more codes instock before returning the Cycle back into circulation. It is not much consolation, given the level of disappointment; however, it is hope of the item’s return.
There’s also that absolute dumpster fire regarding Doritos products where the code was on the outside of the bags, so people were just walking in, taking some pictures and leaving without buying anything. I can’t really fault the consumers for that though. That was just idiocy in every conceivable way on PepsiCo’s part.
Unless mountain dew limited themselves, of course. Half their page is just sold out stuff, digital anf physical alike.
Blizz didn’t have an issue with keys in other promotions.
I saw what happened with FF XIV’s Mountain Zhu and knew the possibility was very real that they would run out and not bother to restock, so I located some bottles as fast as I could.
