I hate to be one of the people finding something to be upset over but… Still no player housing and no eased up race/class combos really kills a lot of my hopes.
I mean, don’t get me wrong a lot of what they showed was cool. The talent tree revamps especially, long overdue if I’m being honest.
But yeah… Kinda feels bad man, especially how they went on this “players should play the way they want” bit in the new features discussion.
I mean, I’m still probably going to play it, idk, not a ton that excited me aside from the Talent revamp.

I haven’t seen any of the announcements yet.
I hope it’s not the same talent tree that we used to have cuz that thing was useless.
people complain now that we only have a set amount of choices even though those choices are much more meaningful than anything that ever existed within the talent tree.
I don’t want a scenario in which I have 30 choices but absolutely everyone has to be the cookie cutter choice if I wish to compete.

I am very disappointed but kind of knew how the head dev feels about it so I expected it. everything else is worth checking out, revamping the core of the game is something I really wanted to see. and when they said revamped crafting I got really excited, so we are early so maybe some hopium?

It’s either a raid at launch or player housing. Which will retain more players?
Sadly not going to happen, player housing isn’t on the table as a launch feature.
We couldn’t even get the dance studio from WotlK (I’ll never forget)

The talent tree isn’t gonna be any different from what we currently have, we are in the age of meta play, someone will figure out what is the best tree and everybody will follow it. There is no such thing as “build diversity” when everyone’s main goal is parsing.

There’s no privacy in the city. Secret guild meetings can’t close the door to their headquarters. In fact, none of the houses or buildings in any of the major RP hubs have doors that close.
We’re basically confined to the garrison or a dungeon if we want actual privacy.

I’m not particularly excited by the new features, so all my hopium is now invested in the story not totally sucking. So far so good, but we aren’t very far.

Privacy? You have the entire world, plus another plane of existence to obtain privacy.
AFK inside Stormwind.
AFK inside of a player home.
AFK inside your favorite zone, in a specific place.
I don’t see the difference at the end of the day.

It’s a way to make a part of the world your own. It’s not for everyone, sure, but there is a lot of content that isn’t for everyone.

These threads are fun because it’s always easy to tell who doesn’t have any experience with player housing and is against it just because of the way it sounds lol.
