So… can someone explain why we are the only class that has haste not scale with our dots? I don’t understand the reasoning behind it.
It is very odd. Serpent Sting for SV Hunter is also a strange one. Its duration shortens with increasing haste, meaning the more haste you have the more you have to press SS.
Both are head scratchers for sure.
No melee dots scale with Haste bar maybe feral (I think?). I assume it has been beause because our haste increases our auto attack speed, where it used to do nothing for casters.
I know warrior and rogue bleeds scale with haste. I just find it odd the diseases don’t.
Given the playstyle at least of UH it wouldn’t be a good thing if our dots expired faster, especially when their damage is so small.
our melee damage, pets, and resources scale with haste instead. i think if you combined scaling with haste with how easily a dk can spread disease we would be very overpowered.
Shackle the Unworthy scales with haste. It doesn’t lower its duration and has increased tick rate proportionate to the amount of haste a DK has.
Still not competitive vs NL and NF.
I think scaling DoTs with Haste would give us a Rot Damage Profile.
The dev team histically hates DKs is the actual answer. We also have people in the community who dont like the idea because “too op” in an expansion where unholy was a top tier spec for 3 weeks after being in the bottom 5 for raids in the last 6 years, and after that 3 weeks went right back to the bottom for another year before the devs rammed an absurd amount of buffs into it to get it at the middle.
Seems logical right? This is why I dont pve on my dk anymore; the class is subject to way too many double standards and just enough of the player base support it so the devs follow through with extreemley bias tuning. Anyone maining the class for pve and paying for it out of pocket is getting swindled, hence why I now play rogue.
The disease scaling with haste should happen because our dot is trash for damage, which has never been the case with unholy.
yeah pretty much, its been obvious to the players ever since the new guys took over in mop or wod. unholy design wise peaked in MoP, legion was fun, but we have been running the legion model ever since with one thing at a time getting removed or nerfed here and there.
Unholys problem is trying to do too much. Combo points, weapon strikes, DoTs and pets, it’s a death by a thousand cuts and results in each individual button press being underwhelming.
Having dots scale with haste would be an excellent talent option for those who want the DoT playstyle. Choice should be the number 2 process behind FUN when designing talents.
My DK will always be PvE.
Haste does not need to buff my disease damage.
