I am going to get the EQ Leggo for Hands, as it seems thats where everyone is getting it, but I am noticing from the leaderboards most ele shamans are going crit/haste, over vers? Is there a reason for this?
Crit scales better for EQ. This is why M+ builds prioritize it with echos. Haste is for maelstrom generation.
The reason haste/verse is better for single target is because Crit does nothing for lava burst.
It’s because all of our damage comes from EQ. Haste gets you to 60 maelstrom faster, while crit scales extremely well for EQ. Mastery does literally nothing for EQ so you basically want 0, and vers is ok but just not as beneficial as the other 2.
Single target icefury is haste/vers because you need a lot of haste to fit everything in the icefury window, and your main damage source (LvB) doesn’t benefit from crit so that’s a lot worse here. Mastery is ok but not great here.
Single target primal ele haste is a lot less valuable so you actually probably want a more vers/mastery heavy build since crit remains bad.
For Earthquake you just need to cast the Chain Lightning very fast and be sure that those tick for damage do critical for extra.
Maybe it’s good to have a chunk of versatility and in the dungeon choose the power to increase critical anyway.
Still, that’s is the way to go.
