Haste = Energy Regen, but how much?

Hey, just trying to figure out how much energy regen you get per point/percent of haste.

I’ve tried looking this up, and I found 3 different answers, with 3 very different scales.

1% haste = 1 point of energy per second.
1% haste = 1% increase in energy regeneration per second. (This differs because if you have 150 energy, you get 1.5 energy per second.)

And finally a drastic;

10% haste = 1 point of energy per second.

Does anyone actually know what the real answer is? For every 1% of haste I get, how does that affect my energy regeneration?

Base energy is 10 energy per second. So if you have 10% haste it would bring you at 11 energy per second.
If you have 1% haste its like 10.1 energy per second (including passive)
If your combat its 12.5 energy per second passive so you multiply it by X % haste you got.

So it’s based off energy regen rate, and not energy pool? (Someone had told me that it was based off a percentage of your energy pool.)

So your extra energy regen is equal to your haste percentage? Ie, 15% haste will add 15% to my base regen rate? (of 10.)

At that rate, is it really worth stacking haste? I mean, I understand that you get more auto attacks, and your DoTs tick faster (if you’re Assassination) but if you want it for energy regen, you might be better off going for Master/Crit, no?

I believe this is the correct answer. 10% haste = 11 energy per second, 20% = 12 per second. Has nothing to do with the pool size.

It’s all about the bleeds. Up until this expansion, haste did not effect our bleeds. Now it does and it has a noticeable impact on DPS.

Also, bleeds don’t actually tick faster. You get more ticks within the given duration. For example, Rupture might tick 14 times instead of 12 over 24 seconds. Combine that with multi dotting a few mobs and the DPS begins to add up.
